Roads are like skating rinks in the higher elevations here tonight. Felt the back end feel a little loose on a corner so that was my cue to slow it down. About a half mile later I saw a cop pulled over because someone was in the ditch. On my way back it was worse and I lost count of the people who had appeared to hit guardrails, or were off the road, or were pulled over with a flashlight looking at their front-end. They actually had one of the major routes blocked off, so I'm assuming a bigger accident happened there.

Looks like the weather folks are forecasting a pretty good storm for Turkey Day this year...
European forecast model (which in recent years has been more accurate for my area):

Guess I'll put the plow blade onto the Dodge this afternoon & test it for function.

Windsor, MA along Route 9. It's the highest point on Route 9. Everywhere else was fine, but I think the higher elevation caused it to freeze up there.

    Nice!

My uncle actually has a 1953 Dodge M37 that he uses just for plowing. It was one that was apparently built to go to Korea but didn't. Pretty rusty, but still runs like a top. He semi-affectionately calls it "The Weapons Carrier."

My cousin has one of those, for the same purpose, with the original flathead six and ridiculously low crawler gear (5.83 axles!!!). In low gear/low range that sucker is a low-speed torque monster. With weight in the bed and chains on the tires I've seen it push an unbelievable amount of snow.

    FTFY?
    Not really.
Someone's posting from their cell phone, haha!

He said 40-45 is about the most you want to do with it, it's screaming at that speed. Apparently the thing weighs about 3 tons (though his is probably less now due to rust!), and he has chains on all four wheels.
