I was never told that. I was lead to believe it was a 2016 model, or late '15.

You made it sound like that was the new Taco's coming out party.

And it sounds like the RL2 will get delayed by Honda's quality issues

If neither the Taco or the RL comes out by February I'm buying a TDI Touareg.

You won't wait for the diesel Amarok?? I mean it's only been 5 years since all the shadowy car reviewers said it was FOR SURE coming to NA in a year or two :D.

I can't wait to see all this generation of midsizes come out. The more the better. Choice is the consumers best friend.

I was waiting for the Amarok to come out when I bought my current Taco 2 years ago. It will never come, I've given up on it.

That was my point. Alot of things claimed on forums like this never come true. I trust some of what's been said, but I'll wait for official releases from Toyota/Honda/GM before I count on a 3rd Gen Tacoma/New Ridgeline/ZR-2. It doesn't mean I think people are lying, but there's a lot of time that can pass between the first rumors and a vehicle actually hitting the showroom floor.

BTW I appreciate all the info Chris and a few others in the know have quietly passed along. It's appreciated even though it'll be a while before we see what and when things actual make it to the market.

The Mexican Mennonites around here say the VW truck is crap. Lots of little driveline issues. So you didn't miss anything anyways.

One of the fjcruiserforums members works for Toyota and has been sent to Texas to reprogram for the 2016 Tacoma if that helps anyone who was questioning whether a new Tacoma was in the works.

I don't have doubts that it's in the works for 2016, but as others have said until Toyota gives us a date and company pictures then the final product is still smoke signals. There's about a half dozen guys on TW who claim to be in the Toyota chain, and they are all saying the truck will be coming in late 2016. It'd be kind of silly at this point to just flat out say they are all lying lol.

Pshh, I've seen pictures of it. Mostly not photoshopped even. ;) I heard it comes with a 480hp turbo diesel that gets 40mpg.

    A base model Colorado doesn't cost 32k.

I was comparing two fully loaded DCLB 2wd models and they were the exact same price. The other models I priced out were the same price too.

We get your point, enough already. Chevrolet should never of stuck such a high sticker price on this truck if they wanted to match it with the Tacoma. Actually to me that's ass backwards. How many vehicles does chevy make that they price above the Toyota equivalent? I think it's a safe bet to say one, the Colorado. It's rediculous that they should over price the truck by several thousand dollars then drop it into the ballpark of the Tacoma's price. It just screams artificial value. If anything all this is going to do is give Toyota an excuse to raise the price on the next generation of Tacoma's, and that sucks for everyone.

Btw that's my opinion, we are each entitled to one you know :D. Enjoy your 2WD loaded to the balls truck either way.
