Nice. Looks like a sweet setup with all those boats and the trailer. I did a couple trips up there this year and had a challanging time bringing my kayaks and tepui.

No issues. Keeping a low COG helps a lot.
Stacking a kayak on top of a tepui on top of a roof height rack would be...interesting.

You could just buy a couple regular ratchet straps at lowes or Home Depot for about $16-$17 each (last time I bought one, a couple years ago). They're longer. So you can cut them off or leave them long and tie wrap the extra length. Then you can use the strap for other things when you don't need it for your tires.

If you are ever looking for slides for something you should really look for a set of server rails. You can find them for pretty cheap sometimes they are made for weight and lock when fully out.

I have a cheap set of slides for the oven table, only because I didn't want to fork out the money for the nice ones. They have lasted a little over a year but are starting to get gummed up with dirt. But the server ones are a great idea! I can probably snag some from the data center next time I head back to HQ. Thanks for the tip!

Or hit up Weird Stuff Warehouse-they have tons of that kind of stuff. The DC dudes are probably flush with that stuff.

I bought 8 of the straps a few years ago. Four stay in the trailer for hauling a vehicle, 2 went to the spare tires, and I have two extra for spares.

No problem. I work in data center and am going to see if I can snag a set of rails while I decom a server figured I'd pass the tip. The cool thing with server rails are they are built so you can remove the server if needed and the rail stays in place.

Yeah it totally makes sense. Wished I would have thought of it too. I tossed a set of rails that were on my 1u server a couple years ago so I could do a vertical mount. Total facepalm now.
