Are the new frames supposed to be better with rust? I don't live up there where it snows a lot but I don't want to miss out on possibly getting a new frame if there's ever a potential that I end up working in the North.

No frame rust on the mighty Colorados. Rust tries to stick, but the sheer awesomeness of the Colorado causes it to flake away, yelping for it's mommy. And then the frame heals itself. Pretty awesome really.

First chance I'm getting one that is awesome! In gonna park it in a vat of salt and watch as the rust screams for its life while the mighty Colorado laughs in evil glee.

    Oh god that is hilarious!

^^ What the video is not showing, is that, in the rear quarter panel area (blind spot), is a TACOMA. 4 banger. And the Chevy is quaking in its (brake) shoes.

yes some do as well as ford had that too a year or two ago, I think its related to these boxed rigid frames they are all going to that doesn't absorb vibrations so even the slightest vibration or imbalance gets amplified and its all transferred to the body of the truck and so driver feels it

Another thing I love about my first gen double cab is none of the traction control bullcrap my 2nd gen had. When I drive on ice and the tires spin, that annoying crap doesn't come on that cuts out the engine and what not, I hated that feature and really drove me crazy having to be completely stopped and hold the button down for 5 seconds just to turn it off. It couldn't just stay off, no way, had to do it every time I started it during the winter.

I hate dummy controls like that, I grew up driving older rigs so I am used to not having ABS, traction control and even airbags. Therefore I hate all that crap. (minus the airbags)

01-04 (4x4), it's what I like. that's what matters. "best truck" depends on the individual and what they need/are looking for in a truck.

Bah!!! This poll shows my '97 Gen 1 as the least favored Gen1, so obviously it is a tragically faulted poll. Besides, it doesn't even have THIS as an option, which clearly wins, hands down.
