Judging by this poll and the comments we should all go find a late 1st generation Tacoma to stick our dick in.

There needs to be that smiley we can use - that would be fun. Being an early 1st Gen owner, I would prefer to wrap it if I did that, as you never know where those nasty late 1st gen's have been

I absolutely loved my 04 Extended Cab 4WD Tacoma!!

I do however like the more plush seats in my 08 dcsb...
I miss having a LineXed full bed though.

Eh, I personally think if your into crawling and lots of offroading, I'd go with a Manual 04 with 4WD. I just needed more seats so...I sucked it up and got rid of my favorite truck. It all depends on what your needs are.

The poll is just about what I would have predicted. Being a Tacoma forum of course the Tacomas are going to rank higher. Secondly with the 95-00 buyback program these owners aren't here to represent their years aka vote for whatever year their truck happens to be. This poll would probably mimic that of one with "What do you drive?" as a title.

A lot of it really comes down to...styling; proportions; what they do with the dimensions.

The underlying Gen1 is sound. The standard cab looks...affected. Lines aren't right.

The extended cab looks perfectly proportioned.

The crew-cab looks...contrived. Like a Sawzall job in the back yard.

    The original front end was...second-rate.

Went worse with the aero-tip with the composite headlights.

Better with the more-upright grille; but that was a cosmetic patch. They should have worked with a lower hood; and I for one would have liked a sealed-beam headlight option (I have to price out replacement of my sun-damaged composite lights).

The second generation...it sells because Toyota makes tough vehicles. LOOKS...are Barf-Bag. Seriously...what the F were they thinking? WHY did they make it BIGGER? They HAD the Tundra...some of us want a smaller truck.

But with the extreme high resale prices on six-digit-mileage Tacomas...the choice comes down to, new or none. I chose new.

Why did they make it bigger? Because we Americans are getting fatter and fatter every year, it's no secret. The 2nd gen Tacoma now is about the same size of a full size truck from the 80s, and full size trucks today are getting as big as a small semi or commercial truck. Hell look at the F150 from early 2000 compared to a 2015, they are bigger than ever. Tundra is substantially larger than it used to be too.

As I work for a Ford Dealership, I can vouch for this. They're HUGE.

Maybe male genetalia is shrinking, so the trucks must get bigger to compensate?

"Oh baby?! What happened to Lord Doom and the Giggle Squad???!!"
"I dunno babe, but look at the size of my new truck!!"
"Oh my Jedediah, your my hero!!!!"
