Just got pulled over. For my green halos. Is there a statute that says you can only have Amber or orange? He claimed there was but didn't give me a ticket or anything. Coulda been real bad since I didn't have my license on me. Anyway, does anyone know the law on this in WY?

So,ething about a police officer killing a guy and all the shit that's been happening in ferguson. National guard is here. They are worried that big riots will happen

 

I found it on the news. I heard about it but didn't know the back story. But basically a white cop shot a colored guy 6 times, twice in the head. Lots of people pissed off. This should be interesting.

 

No idea. But wouldn't be suprised.

No idea. But it's like the third cop shooting a black male in the last 6 months in ferguson or something idk.

They are expecting riots though. Schools have closed. Mine isn't, yet. Find out what happens in a few minutes

 

Yea. Everyone thinks he is guilty but he could and most likely be innocent and people don't like that...idk.. Haven't been following it all.

Not exactly sure where Halos fall in to the ruling since they are around the headlights I guess they could be considered the headlights. In Idaho all headlights have to be white, but the other miscellaneous lights can be any color except blue. I've not been bothered at all about my green marker lights and I know cops have seen them.



Brake lights have to be red; taillights and blinkers have to be red or amber are the only other rules, but these are for Idaho and are pretty lenient as far as things go.

I don't see anything that states you can't have them. He is probably just making shit up.

It looks likes red and blue are the only lights stated to be illegal in the front of the car. Which is expected.

 

There is a lot to be said as to his use of force. Cops have non-lethal ways to secure a suspect. The whole thing in general is pretty sketch. The kid that was shot appears to be your typical thug. It would be a crappy decision to make. The amount of times he shot the kid is what blows my mind. Head shots at that.

 

I've had them for like 4 months and haven't been stopped because of it before, never even had a cop look twice at them. I don't understand why they would be illegal. Lots of people run them. All the statute I could find said this,
"All lighting devices and reflectors mounted on the rear of any vehicle shall display or reflect a red color, except the stop light or other signal device, which may be red or yellow, and except that the light illuminating the license plate shall be white and the light emitted by a backup lamp shall be white."
the other said this,
"(a) A motor vehicle, including a multipurpose vehicle which is greater than fifty (50) inches in width, shall be equipped with at least two (2) head lamps with at least one (1) on each side of the front of the motor vehicle, which head lamps comply with the regulations of the superintendent"

I know colorados says as long as it doesn't resemble blue or red.

 

The exact argument that will probably justify the actions of the cop. There is a lot of issue over it though. Witnesses saying the kid had his hands up. Personally I don't think the cop needed lethal force. They have tasers for a reason. I didn't use lethal force against every kid in afghanistan that threw a rock at me. Even though that rock could very well be a grenade.

 

Yea I know pretty much nothing on the whole situation other then it could seriously effect my surroundings.

It's actually not a bad story to read up on if you have the time. The Ferguson incident and the John Crawford shooting has put cops in the spotlight everywhere. It's going to be interesting to see if we change law enforcement standards in the near future.
