I don't disagree with the verdict. To much "he said, she said" in the case to prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. I still believe the whole situation could be handled better.

Yeah sure, but there are also witnesses saying brown was backing up after the first shot. Any shots to the head says murder to me. You are trained to shoot center mass. Not that it would have for sure changed the outcome. He probably still would have died.

I just don't see there being any solid evidence for either side. Should brown be spending time in jail or prison? Yes. Should he be dead? No.

Why? I know the whole area of LEO is extremely touchy with you guys(mods) as several of you are LEO. But doesn't mean we can't talk about it openly.

 

My views on cops are as they should be. I questioned the police before I was arrested. Because of that mindset I was able to prove myself not guilty. Had I not recorded the police they would have gotten away with fudging police reports and telling the story how it best suited them. Not to mention had my roommate and I not dumped $3,000 into an attorney we would have been charged and most likely found guilty of all charges.

So yes my views on the legal system as well as cops have changed. Not that we don't need cops but that we should question the training being given and the education required to perform such a job. I believe there are great cops out there. I also believe the power of the position can be abused and is abused. One of the cops that arrested us has been kicked out of two stations before coming to the University Police.

 

Sheesh you'd think after the second station he wouldn't be allowed to be an officer.

 

It was a general warning - Not a be nice to LEOs warning.

This is a VERY touchy subject, which have a bad history of causing issues that spill into the entire forum. We won't tolerate it (a la the "no politics" rule)

I've personally started several so called political discussions on here with realivily no pitching happening if it. I doubt this small bs forum will cause a heat wave over the forum.

I think this is more of a current event. Especially since it's happening now...10 miles from me.

 

You now know we are watching the forum - That was the point. I was not directing it at anyone or even suggesting that someone was getting overboard.
Don't read into it.

And do realize that the 40K members and 2 years between you and I saw a lot of things happen on the forum. You might think it won't have an effect, but it can and the staff would prefer to avoid even starting down that path.

 

No doubt. And I get that. I wouldn't want it to do that either. This place has enough damn derp and bs crap in it. I'm not looking to start and neither are the people in this forum. At least I'd sure as hell hope so...but anyone can read it and post so I know what you mean.
