Yes it will work, they just changed it from a 3 leaf pack to a 4 leaf pack somewhere around 2012 I think.. Just get extended brake lines.

    Best place/cheapest is downsouthmotorsports.com

They have a "build your own mid travel setup" option after you type in your make/model/year truck and it is one of the options that comes up.

I got the full Toytec Boss with upper control arms, and rear leafs, bilsteins all around

I'm extremely happy with look ride install ease alignment ability etc.

Icon maybe better but how much for how much? Just wondering diminishing returns on cost vs attributes

My truck rides handles awesome. ....well worth consideration for cost

2.5 - 3 inch lift bilstein 5100 shocks front and rear. OME 885 coils and 1.5 AAL for rear.
This has maybe been talked about but everything I have read has been different the. What I get and think I need. Lots of people from work and here say I will and I don't need to get aftermarket upper control arms. If anyone has this lift or has done what I'm about to do please let me know your thoughts. I have a 2014 tacoma 4x4 dbl cab base. Came stock with 245x75-16 I just ordered bilstein 5100 shocks and OME 885x coils. They say it's about a 2.5 inch lift and it comes with 1.5 aal for the rear. It has some sort of driver side 1/4 inch spacer and all new bushings bla bla bla. Super excited!! I have 17-9 6-139.7 wheels. Then have a -12 inch offset and I'm going to run 285x70-17 (33 or 32.8) close enought. Has anyone had this setup and not ran uca's? Did you need them not need them? I get so many people who tell me no and so many that tell me yes. Please help!

**I've helped install a few lifts on various vehicles, but never a 2nd gen Tacoma (yet), so take this with a grain of salt.**

They aren't 110% needed, but very strongly recommended. Improved upper control arms do three critical things: first, they greatly ease caster/alignment issues with lift kits. Second, they're stronger. Third, you won't get acceptable suspension geometry through the full range of travel with the stock arms.

Personally, when it comes to suspension, I'd rather spend the extra $600 on my lift-kit budget for a set of Camburgs and know everything under the front is solid.

Hi everyone...first post here, but long time forum lurker ;)

OP i'm in the exact same boat as you-have a brand new 2015 SR5 and looking to lift, and have been on the fence about the ICON and BOSS lift. I'm definitely going to go ICON from the looks of this thread. But it would be nice to know if the lifts for the 05+ will fit our new units.

Yep. All '05-'15 suspension components are interchangeable.

OP, as you go higher than 2.5" it is HIGHLY recommended you get aftermarket UCAs. I went with SPC light racing UCAs they are on the less expensive side so they are a good option to consider if you are on a budget.

I can say that without the new control arms there would have been insufficient adjustability to obtain a proper alignment on my truck.

Regardless of what brand you go with I would not scrimp on the control arms. Much more costly to add after the fact and certainly worth it considering the high cost of tires these days

This. $450 for Light Racing UCAs, less if you shop around. Toytec is a neighbor so I saved on my shipping and got the whole kit from them. If you DO find you need aftermarket RCA's, you'll have to install them AND pay for another alignment. Best to do it right the first time.
