Buy another one, remove probably two nuts, take off plate, insert new one (with new chain), replace plate and nuts, tension chain, complete.
    Simple.

Going firewooding with my old tough husqvarna 51 18" and my new husqvarna 55 rancher w/autotune 20" this weekend. My old 51 is my favorite. The carb on the rancher was garbage and replaced under warrenty. Now I love the autotune feature. It works great at 10,000 feet without ajustment.

I keep 3 chislel chains rotated for each.

Bars are VERY easy to replace, and every time the saw comes into my shop for anything MORE than a chain adjustment, the bar comes off, gets cleaned, the saw gets cleaned, bar is lubed, and reassembled with a sharp/new chain.

Pick up a grease gun for the roller tip too, when you get that new bar.

Love my 51. Starts every time, no matter how cold or how hot or how long I've been using it for. It's probably cut 200 cord of wood so far and I haven't had to do a rebuild on it yet.

Wow-that got HOT-is the tip sproket frozen? have that happen on occasion.
I did not see an oil hole for the tip! is it on the opposite side?
Take a pic of the bar guide to show the wear-with usage and wear sthe grove becomes UNEVEN and Flat with incorrect usage.
I ususally "flip the bar" when changing chains or removing to sharpen.
From the looks of that tip-it appears that it was NOT GETTING lubricated OR they were using the WRONG OIL.
Bar oil works best--30 weight is a good substitute when you have nothing else.
Were they using old motor oil or none at all?
Easiest just to get a new bar--but if the old one is just a frozen tip-see if it has sawdust lodged in it.
A quick look can save you some time.
Always keep a spare bar and a couple chains-if you are going to do a lot of cutting.
Better yet--have a second saw!!!!! LOL

Received a McCulloch PM610 from my parents when I was 10yo. It still runs great to this day (25 years later) and Ive never rebuilt the cylinder or carb. It kept our house warm for years and now sits idle in my shed now that I moved to suburbia a decade ago. Last time I used it was to dispose of 20 poorly spaced trees in my yard when I moved in.

One day Ill replace the bar oil seal so it stops leaking on my floor when I use it.

Anyone run one of the Husky 562 XP's with Autotune? Ran one last weekend, think I'm going to have to pick one up, it was a pretty stout saw.

I have both safety (anti-kickback) and non-safety chains, depending on what I am cutting.

    Great saw!

I really like mine, the 029's cut better than the newer 290 series. They have a less restrictive muffler and I think are tuned a little different. I know I can tell the difference between the two using them.

I think I bought it in 1997. Aside from cleaning it, the only maintenance I have done is change the spark plug. (Not that there is that much to do anyway!) And, I keep my chains sharp with my Dremel tool.

I only use it seasonally. Last year, I was cutting logs for firewood for Country Fried Weekend. We had 3 saws running - I cut way more than the other 2 combined!

    Love my Stihl!
