Condensation on inside of windshield?

I have an '08 DC. Last night there was a heavy condensation (dew) left on everything, lotsa rain lately but not last night. I went out this morning to leave for work and there was condensation on the INSIDE of my windshield as well as the outside.
I was stunned to say the least, I've never seen that before with any vehicle I've owned, except my Jeeps if I left the top down or the doors off. My windows were all up last night too.
I've never noticed any leaks after or during rain either btw.
I stopped by the dealership at lunch and they said a "rain doctor" that specializes in stuff like this will be there Wed. and to bring it by then.
Anyone ever see anything like this before?

 

I have never heard of that before.

It should not matter which postition the vent switch is.....defroster/floor/dash vent.

Thats strange. I will let you know if I find out anything.

My brother was guessing it might have come through the cowl and the defrost vents.

 

Yeah.... I've seen that before. I'm not really sure - but it does have to do with the cabin ventilation system and what mode you're in.

It could have something to do with the recirculate button - but I'm not sure.

 

If the defroster switch is left on, and humid air and wind is blowing,.....sounds plausible that a constant stream of moist air is hitting the windshiled on the inside....overnight. Right??

 

By any chance, did you have your rear slider or any windows open? There is no other way, you can get dew inside your car/truck.

 

No rear sliding glass and yes the windows were up.

 

I have an access cab (2006) and i have had this happen before once or twice i've noticed that if your vent is on defrost/floor position it will do this,just remember to rotate to floor only or something else besides defrost, make sure to do this before shutting off the truck

 

That is the only thing I can't remember...where my dial was located. I usually have it on dash or bi-level. But I may have had it on defrost from the last time I drove it.

its happened to me once before, but never since. all my windows were up and back slider was closed. never did figure out why

 

Run your A/C it will act as dehumidifier,,,,

 

Check under floor mats for wet carpet. You could have a leak. Hope not, but wet carpet can cause condensation on windows.

 

This is good to know. It answers why I often had the same problem back in my younger days--wet carpet from spilled beverages. I bet tracking water
in from puddles can also cause this.

 

I've gone out twice in the last 6 weeks to that in my car. It stays outside and the windows were down maybe an inch - I have the vent visors. I've parked the car in the same spot or pretty close for the last 8 years and never had this issue before (that I can remember). It was very humid out... Couldn't tell you where any of the knobs were turned.

 

o5trd is correct in checking the carpet. i had a brand new reg cab back in jan. same thing happened. a week and a half later i discovered the floor on driver side was not just wet but had a small pond on it. not kiddin. there was standing water. went back to dealer and it had a bad leak someplace under wiper cowl. they werent sure where but like you stated the rain dr guy had to look at it. needless to say they bought it back from me with 185 miles on it and put me in a new white reg cab. hope it all works out for you too.
