I have an 09 Tacoma Sport with about a 2.75" lift on Bilstein 5100s and Eibach springs with an AAL and 5150s in the rear.

Currently I run a set of 265/70/17 Goodyear Duratracs on the stock 17" sport wheels. They fit 100% but have always rubbed the control arms a wee bit when I go lock to lock (which I don't do often and it doesn't bother me). The tires have gotten quite loud over the last 50k miles and will no longer balance out. Additionally, they are quite scary when it's wet outside. I was hoping to get new tires when the truck hit 100k miles as sort of a truck century birthday present but if I die in the rain with 5k miles left to go; no bueno....

So now I'm looking at Nitto Terra Grappler G2 tires and trying to figure out what size I should get. I'm open to other options as well but I've read that the Nittos are very quiet and well behaved on or off road. I do go offroad infrequently but when I do I really make sure to enjoy myself. :D

Issue I'm seeing is that Nitto doesn't make the same size tire. They closest thing they make is a 255/70/17 which is smaller both in contact patch width and height. Not sure I'm into that. They make a 275/65/17 but that will likely rub the control arms more and is actually a shorter tire.

What do y'all recommend? I'm open to any and all options. I'm not totally decided on anything just yet.

I know everyone's different, nit I've had the terra grapplers for almost 40k, rotating them every 5k and the tread life is amazing. Going to trail grapplers 35's in the very near future and the guy is taking 100$ per used tire bc they look so good, I even told him I had them 3yrs/35kish+. I'll be a ticking with nittos unless these trail grapplers prove otherwise. I have an 18" wheel but I'm running 265/65/18

Really? The Tacoma World Tir sizer is saying that a 265/70/17 is taller than a 255/70/17. Which makes sense since the second number is a ratio based on width and height. Am I right or do I need to start drinking coffee in the morning?

Also, may be a non-issue as I just called Discount Tire and they DO make a 265/70/17 on the Terra Grappler G2. It's just not on the website. Happy Day. I think we're good to go guys!:D

No, you're right. And I'm the one who needs coffee. All I read was 255 and smaller..was night paying attention to the whole number you gave.

Glad they are available to you! :D
