I'm not familiar with the gen 2 tacomas, are the leafs already outboard on them? This kit is basically the rear shackle hangers, shackles and front pivot mount?

Then you get your long travel leaf and do any bracket adjustments on the axle housing necessary I'm assuming?

Either way, it's camburg, while they have their flaws sometimes IMO, the product and craftsmanship is never one of them!

Should be picking up a custom built FF from them first weekend of Dec to slap under the hooptie in my sideyard and get it back in the dirt again finally!

Yes. 2nd gens have a dove tailed frame so the leafs and shocks are ran outboard from the factory. The kit will probably come with it's own leaf pack as well. DMZ's and Giant's both do.

Huh? If you knew what you were looking at and how suspensions are put together, you would know that Camburg is extremely competitively priced. You'll pay more for less with Total Chaos any day.

How is it similar to DMZ? You think they're making up travel numbers to one-up DMZ? What are you basing this assumption on?

It's a 5 lug so you'll have to spend some money to swap it to a 6 lug or run mismatched wheels which would be a pain in the ass IMO.

It's also full float which I understand means no speed sensors so you'll have no speedo or odo.

How is it that much different that DMZ's? They are both an SUA setup with inverted shackles built to run on a 2nd gen frame. I haven't seen the specs on the Camburg kit yet, but I imagine it's a 2.5" wide Deaver Leaf Pack that is 62-64" long that pulls 16-19" of travel. They are both pretty stout looking kits.

Hell just looking at the pics, it almost looks like the exact same leaf pack...

People keep buying them. I don't know how many times over the years I've read "they are a new company and had some problems, but they are better now!". I still see DOM shock bodies and cast parts. I still routinely see pics of oil puking out of brand new shocks. If you're on a budget buy used high quality shocks!

Both Camburg and DMZ are based on Deaver packs.

I have seen both up close a number of times. Hell I've even seen Gelo760's truck a couple times while it was being built at SMP. I may have even done some work on it . I've been around more DMZ SUA builds than I can remember in the last 3 years or so.

Believe me when I say this, there is no comparison between the two when you see them. The Camburg SUA is a much more comprehensively thought-out, designed and built system of parts.

Camburg's brackets are mounted over a much larger frame surface, they are fully boxed and/or wrapped and they push the springs out from the frame. They are just superior in every way.

To say that there isn't much of a difference because they're both inverted shackle SUA kits with springs that look the same in instagram photos is silly.

Since everyone is talking about DMZ SUA, I noticed my shackle is very short on my DMZ kit compared to those pictured everywhere else. Sooo my back end sits a tad higher than the front, does anyone know why there are different length of shackles? My truck is a 4x4 double cab, dunno if that's why Tim sent me the short shackles.

Short beds run a shorter shackle because the wheel well opening is smaller than the long beds. We lose about an inch of travel but it prevents our tires from hitting the bedsides/cab.
