That's why I thought too but I wanted to hear other opinions.
Well I'm probably going with avec bars and he only has one or the other. I'll run the 6s and eventually a 40" on top, combo. So spot won't be an issue being that low?

Valid points. Wind noise I'll cut down by stuffing the fins with weather edge stuff. If hood glare is that bad I might just wrap my hood matte black or something haha

It's hard to plan lights because I want a tube or hybrid bumper eventually. I believe rigid sells Amber covers in 6" lengths. So yes I'd get covers and use them as dust lights too! :) I was originally going to put a 30" in that spot but that seems really low for a big bar doesn't it? It'll cast shadows on a trail I'd think.

I had a 30 in the valance on my taco. No shadows cast. It's a combo.

Hmm I don't know what people are talking about then. I've seen several people on here say something about it.
Hmm. Maybe I will stay with a 30" then and skip the 40" on top. Cause a black hood might look silly on my desert dune

When going with lower quality light bars, spot is generally your best bet. Most floods won't reach out any further than your stock halogen headlights.

Okay great! Those little deflectors look cool! So I should wait until someone offers more stuff like that. Thanks! That's still bright af for a spot haha
Makes sense! I'll go spot then! Because avec seems like awesome bars but they aren't ridiculous rigid quality. I won't buy eBay China bars.

Honestly they are the same as China bars with slightly better advertising. Rigids and the like are pricier up front, but you're getting much higher quality optics. A pair of D2s costs like $300, a pair of 6" AVECs costs around $140 if I'm not mistaken, and the D2s will be putting out at least 2x the light at 50 yards.

If you'd like proof, all it takes is a few seconds of Googling:

I talked to him on facebook. It was for a racist comment he made, not a pic. His ban is until Saturday night.

I know some people have great success with eBay bars. But I'm looking for a product that's affordable, with great reviews and a warranty. Most eBay bars don't have those qualities.
See, I wheel maybe once a month. So rigid is out of the question because I can't justify them. In my opinion they are extremely overpriced even with their quality. I'd rather spend the money I could save on another mod. Avec is affordable and he offers a warranty which is great. But I do see where you're coming from.

It's not really my intention to on bash AVEC here, because most of the LED vendors do the same thing. But if you're on a strict budget the eBay lights are still a better deal IMO... using the little 6-LED pod for comparison since it's what I linked before, you can buy the exact same light for $21 on eBay with a 3 month warranty. AVEC wants $40 with a 1 year warranty, for TacoWorld members. Electronic products are much more likely to die within the first few months, so there's a pretty low chance of failure from month 4-12. And even if it does happen, you could buy another one and still break even with AVEC pricing.

On the other hand I can definitely see the merits in having to deal with a forum member over an eBay seller and having the reviews of other members. I just think from a purely financial perspective, you don't gain too much over the eBay lights everyone talks shit about, because AVEC is selling the same exact thing with a slightly better warranty.

That said, there's nothing "extremely overpriced" about getting 2x the light for 2x the price. I think that's quite fair on Rigid's part, especially when they're made here in the Phx area with a lifetime warranty.

I've got a plethora of Rigid's, and lots of buddies with China bars. You get what you pay for.
