What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

yes, you pull off the rubber strips on the roof, you will see a pair of tapped holes in the front, a pair in the back and 1 in between in about the center. they are covered with water proof tape. remove the tape, i suggest using the oem kit. the kit has 2 brackets that screw into the front pair of holes (to basically level the rack), pick a side, then you put that sides rack on, there is two holes in the front, you put the included screws through those holes and scre them into the bracket you just installed. the middle screw and the rear pair of screws will screw directly into the oem tapped holes. repeat for other side, done one note, the passenger side, you will need to install the base of the rack (the part that runs from front to back, first) then place the part that swings across on after and put the bolt in on the front passenger (right) side to attach the cross bar part to the base (front to back part)

DONT remove the rubber strips unless you plan to install the rack right away! you risk water getting into those channel and leaking through windshield and possibly leaking into the interior if the gap between the outside roof and inside ceiling fills with water through the taps! learned that the hard way on another truck

 

the amp and sub and everything is built in one isobaric enclosed unit? is that custom built or a fogate product? thats pretty neat.

 

I had the same exhaust for a week or so... Took it off and sold it. Only sounded good from under 2000 rpms, and doin a lot of road travel it sounded terrible on an automatic imo. Coming from my last two trucks being manual I wanted to shift it so bad inbetween gears. Felt like a civic with a cherry bomb

 

Did you go back to stock? I've got an MT and as soon as I hit 24-2500 rpm it's drone city. I think a lot of it has to do with all the holes is the welds from the install.

Funny thing about those strips, one of mine got blown off from the car wash dryers. Luckily I haven't noticed leakage, but toward the end, I can't keep a part of the strip down all the way.

I didn't know there was a clear. Any legal issues? In TX that sun is intense. Hard to stay cool in the summer.
