My boss called us off the bay. Was starting to get too dangerous going out there. We were the only boat on the water in that area and the coast guard is a good distance away

MEH Third world problem.

 

We just got a sweet deal on a freezer at Home Depot! We ran into a guy who called the appliance guy for us and after about 10 minutes of waiting another guy passed by and we asked if he was the appliance guy and he said no, but could help us anyway. He didn't find one in stock after checking the bins and back at receiving; stopping to tell us where he was heading in between. So then we asked when he would have one in. He checked and didn't see one, but said he could order one in for us. So during the ordering process he marked it off another 10% for us on top of the 28% that HD had already marked it off! He said because we were so patient.

Is there any way to give him a good write up at the store? He was super helpful and really tired as well... He said he had been there since 3 am (it was about 2:30 pm) and it showed when he was trying to use the computer...

Send a thank you card to the store manager naming the employee. So much nicer than an email or phone call.

How was your ride in the canyon?

 

It was fantastic, thanks. Went to an area called Scott's Access. Def not for the faint of heart getting in or out. There are plenty of auto carcusses in the area and tow trucks will hang the phone up on you if you call.
Got to use the locker on a ledge while the rears were buried in sandy soil on a steep section. I could not back down and had only one choice.
Scratched the hell out of the truck through some tight brush and will need to address that but, I wouldn't trade the day for anything.
