What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Just bought Icon tubular UCA's and uniball caps for $509 shipped on the CyberMonday sale, now the wait so I can put my OME 887's and nitroshocks on. Going to start looking at 255/75/17's now

 

Just bought some 887s myself

 

I'm hoping to get 3" from the 887's. I have a Pelfrey plate bumper and Warn 9000Ti

 

Installed a IPod interface kit. Very easy! Works great!

 

You probably wanted 886's then... I didn't quite get 3" with my 886's on 5100's and I didn't have a winch up front.

Looked at it as I walked to my F150 to go to the hardware store to pick up yet another thing to attempt to install my washer and dryer. Trying to take the Ford more, and will drive it more after new tires, and new gas tank. Put more than 36k on the Tacoma in my first year. Don't want to keep that up, and don't have any functional bikes to commute on at the moment.

 

You should be there with no weight I imagine.

Aren't the 887's longer than 886's?

 

Longer but lesser rate

 

No. 886's are just a touch longer and they have a higher spring rate.

A lot of the guys running Kings, Foxes and Icons go to 700lb/in springs to get 3" of lift.

886's are 656lb/in and 887's are only 588lb/in. They 886's are only 2mm taller so they are basically the same height but the 887's are going to compress more when loaded, and I didn't have 3" of lift with my 886's once I added the bumper and skids.

Noticed that one of my Trd hubcaps went missing...

 

I made it up olds easily with the paddles, engine felt awesome. Felt the drive train lighter with the paddles than the bajas. I went inside the big dunes with no problems.









Also went to BJs camp and he was with Danbilzerian, we just said hi and took some pictures. He had his 6x6 with him!

Found out the hard way that the transfer case skid plate hits first on my truck. Guess I'm in the market for a stronger skid plate.

 

Put on a carrier bearing drop with my 9 year old's help. Took it for a test drive and it seems like the driveline shimmy is finally gone! I'll find out for sure on the drive back to VA today.

Also got a recall notice for 05-11 4x4 and Pre's for EXPLODING LEAF SPRINGS. Ok, so its for the springs breaking, and possibly puncturing the fuel tank, but still... Anybody had issues with this or got the notice already? No fix for it as of yet. May be just the excuse I need to trade to AAL for some Dakars.
