Directly to the battery. Anything else will give you more radio interference.

Full ome lift, nitro charger sports all 4 corners (rear shocks relocated), Dakar pack w/ AAL, 882 coils, diff drop, toytec 1" shackles, trail gear low profile front bumper, Tuff Stuff winch, bamf sliders, RAT skids, BAMF Bed Rack, Tepui Kukenam RTT, RAT rear bumper,

I have mine wired in cab fuse box with an add a fuse. Super easy. Plenty of range for what I need, not noticing any weird sounds or interference. Could be better swr, but I know that problem is bad grounding at the antenna mount...

    Sweet, thanks for the link.

I'll probably just take them apart and seal them properly. Maybe I'll paint them too.

Rucas - did you paint the interior of the lens or exterior?

If you have any leftover... :anonymous:

Another positive for direct to battery, is the ability to run cb with car off completely.

True. That's how I wire all of my accessories, so I didn't even think about that.

I also used an add a fuse in-cab, super easy. my swr is damn near perfect too

Edit: mine works while the truck is off too.

Yeah I may go that route some day. But for now I don't really have a switch pannel or place for one. Maybe after I get a radio installed I'll copycat your setup. Looks real good homie.

I tested my cb hooked up directly through the battery and through my auxiliary fuse box. And even with SWR showing up perfect both ways, I noticed more static in the background causing me to have to increase my squelch when hooked up through the fuse box.
Don't need a switch to run it directly to the battery since the cb has an on/off switch built in? :notsure:

Brent, so it's hooked up like an amp would be right? Any fuse between cb and battery?

Yeah, exactly. I have both the positive and negative ran directly to the battery.

Yes, always use a fuse. Preferably within ~12" of the positive connection of the battery.

What cb did you get? I'm willing to bet it will already have an in-line fuse in the wiring that it comes with. If not I'd recommend maybe a 15 amp fuse :notsure:

Installed my Scan Gauge and Paranoid Fabrications ash tray bracket. Bracket is nice, not to impressed with the Scan Gauge, transmission temperature was the only reason I bought it. I am thinking of going back to the Ultra Gauge.

Is anyone interested in the Scan Gauge and bracket for $130 shipped? Bracket is painted black and the transmission temperature X-Gauge code is programmed in already.

It does, just pulled up the owners manual to see since the website didn't say. But it does have a in-line fuse. Thanks for your help man.
