How do you like your four wheel camper? Nice pic!

 

The camper/tacoma combo have exceeded my expectations. Originally I thought I would be taking it on and off but the fit is so good it's on there all the time.

Thanks on the pic. I submitted it to Truck Camper Magazine for their 2015 calendar and was one of the 20 runner up photos (out of 350 submitted).

 

A friend of mine has a four wheel camper on his Tacoma, He calls the JATAC Just A Tacoma And Camper.

 

What kind of springs or airbags do you have on your truck to support the weight?

Yup, probably one of the top 5 roads in the entire state. Go in at Carlton, come out at Manson. I've met some really cool people on that road. I was up there a day later heading the opposite way towards Chelan and chatted a guy QRC on Mt. Rainier. That's over 100 miles with a 2M HT simplex. Pretty cool.

I went with an Icon remote res 2.5 coilover w/adjuster in front (650 lb spring), Icon upper control arm, and the Icon remote res 2.0 shock in back. I put the Old Man Emu Dakar springs in back. Originally I had a the stock Dakars (5 plus 2 overloads) but I added the OME extra leaf after the first trip. I did not have any sway issues but I was not getting as much travel out of the suspension as I could off road. With the extra leaf adding a little more height I was able to crank up the extended coilover shocks so I was up to about where I was pre camper.

I have had airbags on other tacomas in the past and would not do them again. I like the ride I've been getting out of the suspension upgrades better.
