Theres the angle you never see but hear people talk about.. that would be sick if i didn't have an annex.

I actually do throw my annex on there sometimes and it works pretty well. Obviously I have no access to the cab but it makes a good spot to throw your dirty shoes and makes it warmer in there. I like it because it doubles as a canopy for when I cook off of the tailgate and stuff.

Haha I would also like to get an awning for off the side. And yeah man they are heavy and not too easy to move around to adjust.

Ugh I want to mount mine so badly, but got to drill new mounting holes to move the rails closer together (not much only about an inch and a half on either side), they are the exact width of my canopy rails so the crossbar brackets get in the way

SnugTop SuperSport SpiderTrax 1.25" Spacers BAMF Sliders OEM smoked headlamps Pro Grille Paint matched grille surround Tepui RTT
Howdy everyone. I was all set to order a Tepui RTT only to discover that my SnugTop Supersport shell supposedly cannot handle the weight of the tent and two adults.

Is anyone on this thread running their RTT on a SnugTop shell that does not have the "sportsman's package reinforcement?" How about on the roof of the cab itself? Seems like there are a number of folks on here running their RTT on the top of their cab, but they're all double cabs, I have an access cab, anyone running a RTT on the top of their access cab? If so what feet/bars are you using.

I'm really trying to figure out a way to make this happen without having to sell my bed shell and getting a pack rack.

Any and all help is appreciated!!

Brian, I have an idea for you. The holes for the rails are laid out on a square so you can turn the rails the other direction (and still have the tent open off the side of the truck). You'd need to cut the length of the rails down, but it would work just fine. If you use the supplied Stainless Steel flat pieces to mount it, then you'll need longer bolts, or you could use some 2" conduit brackets instead to secure it to your Snugtop. I used some of those conduit brackets on mine for my Thule bars but they'd work great with the tent too.

Here's my old Snugtop (same model as yours) when I first put the load bars on. You can see the conduit brackets.
    _MG_1919_189994d78d6329bf15f4da823ed3e69abbf25bcd.jpg

Edit: or you can redrill new holes if you want. the downside to that is you'd have a set of holes left over that could allow moisture into the tent through the base.

    ready6delta and vroybal like this.
