I think what happened, is that the OP but the bulbs in upside down. I have done that with my stock lights and it got super bright even with the stock lights and the light just scatters every where.

Just waiting on some pics. I am however, confused as to how the bulbs can be mounted upside down? Obviously the bases must be different? You can't put a H4 bulb in upside down.

It's still possible to put the bulbs in incorrectly. Not a full 180 degrees off but close to 120 degrees off. Just make sure the larger of the three tabs on the bulb is pointed toward the top of the headlight assembly. This ensures that the low beam emitter is pointed up to reflect off of the top of the reflector bowl, and the high beam emitter is pointed down to reflect off of the bottom of the reflector bowl. This is exactly how the stock halogen bulbs work.

Yeah that's what happened with mine. I was installing them at night and didn;t have enough light to make sure the bulbs were seated correctly. The original post has been updated with new pictures

That is correct. The low beams should light up the top of the housings (light is reflected down and out). You should have much better results now!

No, you cant, because the three tabs are NOT 120 degrees from on another. Look at the pic I posted, the two "thinner" tabs are way closer to each other than they are to the "thicker" tab. Shouldn't go in but one way, unless these new LED bulbs have a different base. The tabs are NOT Symmetrical, they will only go in one way!!!

The LED bulbs have the same shape base as the halogen bulbs. When I installed them the first time I couldn't see which way the tabs needed to go and just twisted the bulb around in the housing until it felt secure. The result was the bulb was facing at an angle instead of directly up and down as it should be. This is because I did not seat the base of the bulb in its slot.

Not sure if you're understanding, but IF YOUR bulb is fully seated, it will ONLY GO IN ONE WAY!! Period!! There is a "fat" tab and two "thinner" tabs, plus, there is a flat space on the base itself. They only GO ONE way. Not trying to be a dick here, trying to help. Again, look closely at the pic I posted.
