Hello folks! Not all that new to Albuquerque, moved here couple months ago, but just now am starting to get settled in my house.

Got a grey access cab, 4x4 manual. Also have a rather beat up F150 I am fixing up.

Anyone here go fishing? Planning on going snagging over thanksgiving weekend, likely heron lake.

Likely going to make camping/fishing a regular activity.

Oh, one question for those who are familiar with the mountains east of Albuquerque: I have the stock tires with about 30k miles on them, and a couple tubes of sand in the bed. Should I expect to put on better tires before winter is over?

Not sure what you mean by a quality winch and why you're having a hard time finding one.

I run a Warn m8000s. No issues to date. The Zeon line they make looks pretty good too. Many peeps go for the Superwinches as well.

    Hi there,

We actually went up there when the season first opened up. We didn't fill our 12 fish a day limit, I ended up with about 11 total for two days. I'm not keen on snagging however, only do it in this situation. Haven't heard reports lately but I remember one time I went during Thanksgiving weekend and we didn't catch a single fish but that was few years ago. Hope you have good luck!

You should be fine with your tires I believe... Especially since you have a 4 wheel drive

    I have an ego 9000s- http://www.engousa.com/p/model-e9000s

its a good quality winch at an awesome price. did well in the 4wheeler winch shoot out- http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/129-1107-massive-multi-winch-shootout/

I've had it about 2 years, used it maybe a half dozen times. never had any kind of issue with it.

And my reason for coming in this thread is i'll be visiting NM in January!

I'll be flying into ABQ Jan 27 and then going up to Taos for a few days. I'll be back in ABQ saturday afternoon and flying out Feb 1st.

Just wanted to see if anyone has any advise for where to go in ABQ, how to get to taos, or any places the check out in taos.

I looked at the shuttle that taos operates from ABQ and the mountain. $85 RT but it only runs once a day and I'll have to sit at the airport for 3 hours waiting for it.

I looked at rental cars and they are all more than $300 and for just me and my g/f thats a lot to shell out compared to the $170 total for what the shuttle would cost.

I was watching Diners, Drive ins, and Dives and saw "The Cube" http://www.thecuberestaurant.com

anyone ever go there? I was thinking about checking it out.

    Soon...

I have two winches on my truck. A Ramsey 9500 in the front and a Smittybilt 8000 in the rear of the truck. I've had both for quite some time now both work when I need it. Not too much for the Bulldog winch I have on my work truck works whenever it wants to.

Unfortunately I am unable to go this weekend, due to some truly frustrating attempts to install my washer and drier. Truly embarrassing how difficult I am finding the drier venting to route correctly.

I am sitting down calmly before go rampaging on the flimsy ducting.

It's not likely. My cousin is getting married in Ft. Collins, CO on May 30th. We're pretty close, and it will be a good opportunity for me to catch up with some family that I don't see too often.

I'd like to make it out there at another time with a small group.

Good reason. I might be willing to go again in a small group. It'll depend on how I treat the truck on this big meet. It might end up as another body swap to a 4R this time.

Hey guys, I need some help.

So my 21st birthday is Friday the 5th. I found out a couple weeks ago that Randy Rodgers Band made a new tour date for that day at Grahams Central Station in Albuquerque, how perfect! So my girlfriend bought tickets and all was good until we saw on facebook that Grahams closed! So RRB then made an announcement that the concert is now at Dirty Bourbon. Well I called Dirty Bourbon and the manager was a dick and told me the they wont accept the tickets we bought since they weren't through them. So now we are out $36 and don't want to buy the new more expensive tickets until we get some help.

Does anyone know anyone who works at either? What should my plan of action be? Can they just take our money without giving us a service?

    Anything will help!

    Thanks
