2005-2011 Tacoma, Pre Runner and 4x4 vehicles. The subject vehicles' rear suspension system contains leaf springs that are constructed of either three or four leaves. There is a possibility that a leaf could fracture due to stress and corrosion. If this occurs and the vehicle continues to be operated, the broken leaf could move out of position and contact surrounding components, including fuel tank. If the broken leaf contacts the fuel tank repeatedly, it could puncture the tank and cause a fuel leak. In the presence of an ignition source, this could result in a fire.

Does also mention reimbursement for those folks that took care of this issue themselves, or had it done.

There is nothing saying that the leafs will be replaced with this recall , more than likely just a retainer clip like the late model 11's and newer have which is why they are not part of this recall

Guess I'll be taking my baby in for the corrosion check and leaf spring bullshit at the same time. Are they going to replace the leaf springs, or only if they are "fractured"? Does anyone know?

Anyone know what vehicles are affected. I have a 2007 DCLB and checked on the Canadian Toyota recall site and said there is no recall for this vehicle?

Anyone else with a 2005-2012 DCLB who's received the letter? Did you also check toyota's site to see if your vehicle was in the call? Anxious to find out since I've repaired my leaf springs twice in the last 4 years!

I got my letter yesterday. I've been checking my springs periodically to see if they're cracked. I haven't seen anything yet. My question is, I put an aal on my toy, will that affect the recall for me???

Got my notice in the mail yesterday. They claim there will be compensation if you have already remedied the fix...anyone actually know how much they will actually remedy?

I still have the broken leaf i pulled off one side. Wonder if i put that on the side that hasn't been replaced yet, if I can get a new leaf at that point?
