Yea mines done this before, stripped out the thread (likely from rust). Last time I filled the threads with red loctite and it held for about 2 months.. Tack weld is a good fix til I upgrade

yup. I tried locktite, but it didnt last long.

 

Why so much contempt for his kit? (Don't read this in a keyboard warrior voice please) The "marine" grade stuff you are using and his welding wire are still susceptible to corrosion forming in between the outer jacket and causing resistance in the form of voltage droop (especially with a long run).

I would suspect that with the soldered and crimped ends, his would hold up well and have less resistance than "marine" grade copper cable of the same gauge. After having a boat for a while and being the only person in my family willing to work on it, I can say that you weed through a lot of (not all) marine products that are just normal stuff marked up and painted white or blue.

I'd actually like to know more about your setup though and also what cabling and breaker products your are working with. I had run across some decent stuff while re-wiring our little ski boat about 2 years ago and I'd be curious to learn of more.

Hopefully I don't come off as too much of an ass, I wasn't trying to, it's just how I write. I'm very skeptical of products that market themselves as better without providing much, if any solid evidence (a.k.a marine, cold air intakes, TRD Sport package )

I'm fine doing the engine and diffs myself but I dont want to mess up the tranny or transfer case..

 

For a manual trans it is just as easy as a diff.

 

Got the new tires on, 33/10.50 r15 I'm pretty butt happy about them..

I did it on my 5 lug (manual) 2x because I kept getting water in it XD

 

Fixed my AC today!



And also installed a new female USB connection to my stereo.(old one broke)

 

What was wrong with it? I am about 2 weeks away from being able to replace my heater core and I am about to buy the parts. I have to wait until I am home for winter break to tear out the dash.

Gonna put in new seats as well.

 

Don't bother rewinding the OEM one.

The best part about the cs144 is a high output (higher then the stocks total output) at idle.

HO alts don't do that.

Did you go through my battery info stuff in my build? Lots of nice info on there.

Also where are you hearing of the cs144s taking a poop? You know mike and I have them already im sure and they help a lot.

My AC on/off button and temp controls stopped working about 6 months ago. I thought it was going to be something major so I left it for awhile, but I decided to check the back of The control unit before spending money taking it somewhere, and I got super lucky and found two pinched wires in the back of the connector. Replaced them and bam! I have cold air.
Can't tell you how much it sucked last summer on a 8 hour road trip with 4 people in an extended cab and no air!

 

Oh and now this is in the works
