the guy knows how to coach and more importantly recruiting. He'd have the bulldogs in the national title hunt in 3 years and not fizzle out like they have been doing.

Fisher: 'We're turning into figure skating' .:rofl:

Florida State is 12-0, has won 28 straight games and claimed the national title in 2013. While coach Jimbo Fisher said he doesn't feel disrespected by the polls or College Football Playoff committee, he said he is concerned about how teams are viewed and analyzed.
"It goes back to perception," Fisher said Monday afternoon. "Sometimes, to devalue winning, they never stood at this podium. ... We're turning into figure skating. We're judging."
A lot of that judging has centered around the argument that FSU's schedule isn't as tough as those played by other schools or that the Seminoles have played many close games.
Fisher was asked about the ACC's success against the SEC on Saturday, which included wins over Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Kentucky. He reiterated that it shows how good the ACC is but also that the line between the SEC and the other Power 5 conferences isn't that big.
"Even from a media standpoint, we all become brainwashed," Fisher said. "… I don't mean any disrespect. You guys say one conference is better. But I don't think it's that drastic that all of them aren't very similar, if you want to tell the truth about it. I think everybody can beat anybody in college football right now on any given Saturday."
Fisher has done quite well against Power 5 conferences as FSU's coach. He is 4-1 vs. Florida, and the Seminoles beat Auburn to win the national title in January. FSU also defeated South Carolina in the 2010 Chick-fil-A Bowl.
As Fisher was rebuilding FSU's program, the Seminoles lost a home-and-home series to Oklahoma in 2010 and '11. But FSU opened the 2014 season with a neutral-site win over Oklahoma State. And FSU can claim wins over Notre Dame in the 2011 Champs Sports Bowl and another victory in Oct..

Then why did the Gators fizzle out after Mullen and Tebow left? Why did he head to the best school in the crappiest power 5 conference? He's a good coach, but I wouldn't trade Richt for him.

I would take Mark Richt over almost any coach in the nation. He has a .750 winning percentage and is a great guy. There is no "perfect coach", but Mark Richt doesn't show emotion on the field, unlike Spurrier, and I like that, unlike FSU he keeps his players accountable and is a great mentor and role model to them. Honestly, I couldn't ask for a better coach, no one will ever win them all, but when you run a straight program you have my respect. Go Dawgs!

Richt officially said Gurley is heading to the draft. Everyone knew it, but now it's official.

Joe Pa took 17 years to win a championship
    Bobby Bowden - 18 years
    Tom Osborn - 22 years
    Vince Dooley - 17 years
Bear Bryant - 17 years of being a head coach (not all at the same school)

Like I said...I could go either way with the whole Richt thing. If he stays, awesome. If he leaves, eh.

I'd rather have him than Urban Meyer who would have some sort of sickness for a month or so then...oh man, it magically disappeared, I should go coach at my dream job. Urban is a douche.

To me as a fan winning a national championship is the ultimate goal. Then me as a former high school football player I respect coaches like Richt who have zero tolerance for issues and don't sweep things under the rug. I really hope Richt doesn't leave, I think UGA has an okay year next year after losing so many seniors, but the year after that we have Chubb and Michel as experienced juniors and should have a heck of a team.

It's absolutely the ultimate goal. Espeically when everyone else in your conference has won one in the last decade.

But then I look at the other side of it. We could push him out like UT did Phil Fulmer...then we could get Lane Kiffin and Derek Dooley and be sub .500 for a decade.

Exactly, it's risk and reward. I'd rather take the risk of giving Richt a few more years than going down like other teams have done. I can live with 9-3 or 10-2 every year.

Also, our strength and conditioning coach is stepping down (Joe Tereshinski...who's namesake was a TERRIBLE qb for us...)
