RCD 4.5" Suspension: The best lift available?

    What Wobble said. For 2 grand this kit comes stock with custom made Bilstein 5100's for RCD which give the best ride I've ever felt for the Tacoma suspension lifts. Way better than Icon, OME, Fabtech, Toytech, etc..

    Google it lol. First results on mine say 999 for pro comp kit. Only thing RCD kit has extra is the front struts. Doubt their worth 1k

    Link? The ones I see are $1600 range for the Pro Comp.

    I don't take it that way. I did quite a bit of research into drop bracket lifts before I bought mine.

    procomp basic 6" is 1600 zone 6" is 1200 and rough country is around 1000 but rc is crap.

    And this is how bad the rc lift is. Look at the cv angles and look at the tie rod angles. They also don't make the spindle long enough which causes the severe angle on the uca and balljoint. Now compare this to the rcd, procomp, zone or bds. So if you want to pay 1k for this go right ahead but I wouldn't waste my money on it.

    Don't know why rc came up under pro comp search, I stand corrected. Well 600 is still a bit much for -1.5in and struts IMO

    It's actually a 5", not a 4.5".

    I chose this lift because of the quality, steering knuckle design, struts, and I think 5" looks great with 33s. 6" is not needed for 33s and looks a little silly IMO.

    I know what's involved. I had a 3" on my previous truck and had to do quite a bit to clear the 285s. If you don't care for this lift, that's fine. Many people like their 3" lifts. I'm just not one of them.

    Those 305/75R17's look great! Nice lookin' truck!

    the point that is being overlooked here is db lifts keep your cv angles and steering geometry good. get a nice coilover lift crank it to 3" and see what the cv and upper ball joint angles look like. u have no downtravel left, its like walking on your tippy toes.

    You do drop your diff a bit but DB lifts still give some pretty steep angles with the 6" lifts

    Wrong! Only on the rc lift has the poor design which gives you steep angles.

    Like BORNWILDGUY stated, the RCD kit is much more than just the custom Bilstein 5100's, which you get front and rear, not just front.

    Read my first post on this forum. I've had all the best lifts from 3-6" and tried 35's with the 6" Fabtech on my 06' AC 4x4. After dealing with all those lifts in the past, I wasn't going to make the same mistake twice with my 2012. This is coming from 1st hand experience, not other people's opinions. Hands down, this is the best kit for the money. Plus all 3" kits require new UCA's (more $$$) and ride like hell compared to DB kits, especially the superior design of the RCD kit.

    The 6" looks a bit too high for 33's. Then if you want 35's, it requires the body mount mod and changing gears if you don't want power loss.

    Plus, ask any real 4x4 shop and they'll agree that ProComp = ProCrap
    4WheelParts is owned by ProComp and even the guys working there will say the same thing. And they don't sell RCD because it will compete with their ProComp sales.
