little help w/ tires please

what's up guys i'm looking to purchase some new tires for my 07 trd off road package with 265/70 r16. i've heard a lot of guys talk about Goodyear Wrangler Dura Trac's if anybody has them i would appreciate some feedback. i'm looking for a fairly aggressive tire that is good in snow and mud. i'm thinking these are a decent tire but if anyone has another tire they love i would love to get yor input. thanks

 

I haven't really owned any other offroad tires but the Duratracs have exceeded my expectations which were pretty high. Supposedly they are a cross between and all terrain and a mud terrain with a snow rating added as well. They're hard to find apparently. I had a guy tell me theyd been backordered since july

i'm hearing a lot of people who have them love them, those who just hate Goodyear alltogether talk badly of them. still not sure though

 

So far so good. the looks alone sell the tire.
road noise is not bad, can hear it if listening without the radio.
Felt great in the mud, they have a great snow rating so waiting for the white stuff to fly now.
I would definitly recommend. was told it was designed as a work truck tire for all occasions.

 

I have no proof of which one performs better as i have only owned one. I'm just stating which ones have worked out for me. Not 1 flat tire in 10 years of running them. I'm not really interested in which looks "meaner"

 

I did not like the BFG's for one reason they were like racing slicks at 30k. I have maxxis Bighorn MT's now tried them out this morning and they work wonderfully.

 

Huh? I don't get it.

 

The BFG A/T I had on my truck from the person I bought it from had no tread left by 30k.

 

I dont know how he ran them but every pair i had lasted a good 80,000. I cant see any MT lasting longer than an AT.

 

True Im not saying anything bad about the tires when I had tread on them they performed very nicely, and I'm sure my M/T's will wear out quick but I picked them up for next to nothing off of craigslist.

For the OP I know a lot of my buddies have the Big O A/T's and love them, and I think they said they have a 60k warranty.

 

I have Firestone Destination A/T's but they really aren't aggressive enough for what you're looking for. For what it's worth, I have two friends that have the Duratracs, one on a Tundra and the other on a Chevy, and I can tell you they'll be my next tire. Great ride on and off pavement and very little noise from what I can tell in their trucks.
