Whoa, what was the advice?

Do drugs, be dumb enough to marry someone you don't know that well, try to become MMA fighter, try to resist any urge to give up, even if it's the cops

 

To see how things go over a few months of hanging around each other again (they hadn't seen each other in a few months and she just had a baby from a scumbag and has her own issues), or to spill a little of the beans BUT NOT A LOT OF THEM, and then see how things go over a few months.

 

Never known him to do anything but drink and smoke weed. Known him for 10 years or so, so I'm curious myself. This whole situation makes no sense, doesn't fit his personality whatsoever and worse yet, it's fucking crazy. Like crazy crazy.

Sooo.....are they getting married or not?

 

They haven't really dated before, she has her own issues like I said, and years ago when I first introduced them the first time we hung out as a group (he was my friend, she is a friend of my fiance's) they hit it off because mainly they're both troubled personalities, socially mainly. He developed feelings and told her, then she said she liked him as a friend and then took his virginity and sex'd him up for a while anyway, the falling out happened inevitably but took a few years, and then it's been touch and go since then with occasional hanging out as far as I know. I think he saw her 3 times or so during the pregnancy and that was it until Saturday night which was a birthday party they came to together.

He wanted to talk to us on Sunday about her so we did, and he said his life has a different clarity since Saturday and he wants to be with her, etc,. Normal head over heels in love stuff. Gave him reasonable advice and didn't pump him up with false expectations as she's about as predictable as a shart.

Hadn't talked to him since then, and only hearing the details through the girl he was talking about because I didn't want to call him Sunday night and ask WTF.

 

Socially awkward and old school mentality, he told her that nobody would take better care of her, and nobody else would put her in a Cadillac. She's new school and half moronic and took the Cadillac comment literally, which of course comes off as a weird thing to say.

I know what he meant by it, but you know.. just unusual in about every possible sense.

True, but quite different animals.

 

That's part of my confusion. We both tried not to encourage or discourage anything. I just hope something didn't click in his head from something that I said that made this chain of events make sense to him, I'd feel really terrible if he thinks I'm responsible for all of this in some way.
