    whats the differnce that you prefer the ruger to rather than a colt or bushmaster? is it because of the selectable gas piston settings?

    I've had awesome experiences with Rugers. Hardly ever jam, always reliable when you need it, and it's a very, very solid weapon.

    Ameetec Arms used to custom make AR uppers and Lowers. They have since gone out of business due to some shady business deals the owner had done. Some of the highest quality uppers/lowers I have seen though.

    They made limited numbers of Uppers and Lowers. Most of them were a build to suit thing. Custom engraving, etc.

    Doesn't matter much between Colt , Bushmaster , RRA , S&W , or Armalite the quality is similar and the resale on these brands is gonna hold better than the small "ma and pa" AR MFGs.The Bush(Bushmaster for sure on this) and the S & W I believe also have NON Mil-spec buffers on the collapsible stocks so if you go to Veltor or something you will have to change your buffer tube.If you don't care and are gonna keep it as a "toy" buy whatever , if you care or may want to resell at least buy a "good name" such as the above.

    Chris is right though , Ameetec AR were extremely well made for a "small house/ma and pa" place they had great stuff.The got "absorbed" though as many do.

    IMO LWRC is the best you can get.POF is close.These are both piston.LMT and Noveske round out the top on the std AR platforms , with LMT offering a piston option.

    What it come down to is if you want to trust it for protection or robbing a casino with a shoot out to follow...GO PISTON!

    Go to LWRCi and look at the REPR.Fuckn Sic!

    so, if you had to put your money^^ on a AR. jsut one. what brand would you go with. Albeit piston vs gas or mil spec or not mil spec. asn what chamber would you go with

    Me? I would go with an LWRC M6A2 in 5.56 mm.6.8 is "dead".As for 308/7.62x51mm I would go with a different platform entirely.

    1 in 7 twist....75 gr Hornady TAP ammo and you are fucked from muzzle to 500 yrds.

    About 600 give or take....but at least you won't own a gun from the company that helped push the 1994 magazine ban through so there mini 14 could compete with Colt ARs.Plus the lower quality and price increases on there product lately.If you don't believe me look at a 10/22 or Mini 14 from a year ago and one now , those are the two it shows up on most.Recalls on the Sr9 and LCP...probably one soon on the LCR.Don't support a bad company IMO.
