    Yep I hear you.. hard for me to think about upgrading with all the stuff I have done to this one.. and having to almost start all over..


    For everyone else.. Where have you brought your shocks down to have new springs put on?? I have done the "bring your assembled shocks in" before as well as the "LCA" method..

    Have some 885s sitting in the truck that will need to get put on sooner than later. I could:
    - do the LCA method again, then get alignment
    - bring the truck in to get get everything done
    - take out the assembly and have a shop swap the coils

    Called Scotty's yesterday and they are charing $100/assembly to just swap the coils. If there was a cheaper place (i.e. $50/per or so), I may go that route. If not, I can always do the LCA method again.. For $200+, I could just invest in a good spring compressor and loan it out (maybe not)...

    Not sure if the ome coils are much harder than stock, but i installed my 5100s myself at home. Spring compressor and an cordless impact. If u go slow, its not too dangerous. Easy to do. Did my front in less than 1 hour. Then take to Scottys.

    you will still need an alignment if you open the suspension.

    I got a craftsmen manual compressor that works fine for stock springs. should work ok for 885s, but not for 886s

    Yea.. I would get alignment soon after whatever I do...

    I know that many frown on Firestone alignments, but do they do the lifetime alignments on lifted trucks as well?? After this swap out, it will be like the 5th alignment due to suspension changes/LCA bushings repair..
