They should be adding an additional leaf. It's been a long discussed topic. Unless I'm mistaken.

I had to lookup FTFY. I had no idea what it meant.

I sold my stock BFG Rugged Trails with 3100 miles on them for $300. Put on Firestone Destination A/T P265/75/R16 for $480 installed (black friday deal). Love the new tires so far.

The problem is the risk of current leafs breaking. I don't see how adding another leaf will prevent them from cracking/breaking.

Wouldn't an additional leaf reduce the load weight per leaf reducing the rrik of cracking.? I'll wait until I get back home tonight and read the notice again. I'll post it up here when I do.

Maybe. I'd have to check the letter again to see if it specifies if it happens under a load. I know some had there's crack from just off-roading and no load in the back.

I think it's due to inferior metals. My old 98 had the same issue after a couple years the a passenger side leaf broke. At the time it seem to be very similar to what's happening now. I don't remember them doing anything about it back then. I didn't wheel that truck ever.

That's what I was thinking. The metals are just deteriorating and breaking down and having issues with corrosion. Wouldn't be surprised if the fix is a clamp so that way when they do break the clamp will hold them in place and you have to go in to a shop or the dealer and pay to have the leafs replaced.

You and me both man. Not the way to end a record breaking year. I've been debating starting a football blog type thing to discuss crap like this... I was defending and tearing down people on instagram who were saying some ridiculous crap. Then there's all the idiots calling for Riley's head, which I can understand but is wrong. Anyway, I won't go on a rant here... but this is why I'm thinking about starting a blog so I can have a place to rant.
