    A totaled 2010.... asshole

    nice. thanks ant

not necessarily the cheapest, just looking at options

yea thats what concerns me the most. I also keep weighing the option of just installing a whirlpool tub when i renovate the bathroom. Nicole and I both grew up with them in our parents houses and never used them.. so I don't expect installing one here would be any different. I'm thinking I'll just have to wait till I build the deck and decide on a hot tub then. for now i'll have to settle for hot showers and sitting in front of the wood stove lol

Yeah I was thinking I would really appreciate a whirl pool tub over a hot tub. The house we are looking at actually has a whirl pool size tub but no jets or heating unit which I think is pretty dumb. If we get this one I definitely plan on making it a whirl pool.

    What haven’t I changed?
My in-laws had a hot tub at their house for a while, but after a while the maintenance just wasn't worth it for how little time they spent in it, which was about 30 minutes every few days.

My house has hookups for a hot tub, but I'm not going to put one in. When I have the patio put in next spring, I'll probably put in a stamped concrete pad that's big enough for a hot tub and use it as a sitting area instead. The next owner can decide on whether they want to have a hot tub there or not.

    Lol sorry man.

Whirlpool tubs suck if they are in a shower. Everytime you decide you want to use the whirlpool you have to fill it up, run it to get the junk out of the pipes, then drain it, then fill it with hot water and use it. Then you're sitting there by yourself instead of hanging out with your girl or friends.

I took Nicole to look at hot tubs today and she completely changed her mind. Now she wants one too. They have a demo that has had water in it since June (with proper maintenance and chemicals) that they will sell for $5995 with the cover, cover lifter, chemicals, and ozonator. Delivered. 12 month no interest financing. 5 year warranty. Only maintenance is a new silver ion filter every 4 months, toss a tablet in the tub before each use, and 1 tablespoon of chemical once a week.

Right now I'm pretty sure I'm going back tomorrow to put a down payment on it.

Then I need to start building a pad for it to sit on so we can start soaking soon

Josh, are you on Facebook? If so, join one of the many "yourtownnamehere yardsale" pages.

I literally see 2-3 hot tubs a month pop up for sale. I think the allure of a hottub wears out rather quickly after a few months.

As far as new ones go, I've heard Thermospas are decent. My in-laws have had a hottub for 12 years. I'm sure they have "enjoyed" it waaay too much. Lol

    Lol

That's what I'm thinking. Excavate a little to level a spot and then line it with pressure treated 6x6s and then compact the soil and add a few inches of blue stone and compact that. Thought about using some of my extra pavers and building a small patio for it but that sounds like too much work for something that you won't be able to see after I build a deck up to it and landscape around it.

Yea I looked at a lot of used ones on craigslist and shit, the fact that I don't know shit about hot tubs makes me really not want to take a gamble on someone's used one. Atleast with this one I'll have a 5 year warranty and if anything breaks it'll be free to get it repaired and I'll get a chance to talk to the service guy and find out how to troubleshoot/repair it for the future.

I think he means the TRD one that you buy separate from the "optional" accessories
