when we going back to the hobby shop for round 2?

 

Im out of town this weekend, and then ill be done with all my finals on the 15th so any time after that really, I'll have nothing to do and lots of time

 

Let me check mine and my wifes work schedule. Maybe the sometime the weekend of the 13 or 20th? After that it get busy as hell for me until mid Feb.

 

Working on making a custom cover box thingy for my intake in the fender. This started out as flat sheet metal.

 

Here's a few more shot of it. Not sure how well it will all work, but it certainly can't make it any worse than what I have been going thru when I hit the water holes.

 

Im down for the 20th, that would be the easiest. Hopefully we can figure out that damn spring compressor haha that thing was SKETCHY

 

Looks good and that should help keep water out of your intake now is that going in your fender well or under the hood

 

That'll be an easy one to mount your most likely going to need either a piece of angle or flat stock to put between your to main supports for your crash bar I used a piece of 3" aluminum angle

 

That's what I was thinking, but how did you do it without taking your bumper off?

yeah I am not sure I can picture where this thing is going and why...prob because I haven't looked under Jason's hood to understand what the water problem is yet.

 

Not under the hood. It will be going in the R/F fender covering the intake tube that pokes thru from under the hood. Right now it's wide open, when I hit the wayer, she sucks it right into the intake and about hydrolocks my motor. Sunday morning I went out for a quick spin, hit some water and she was puttering pretty bad, much like ocala. Sunday afternoon noon I checked, and my air filter was dripping wet.

 

interesting, does this happen to everyone or do you have something special done to your intake for it to be so open?

 

I don't have wheel well liners.

 

I added a outerwears prefilter to mine. Seems to work for others. They are waterproof.

 

Where did you get this and how much? This would be much easier.
