Hey, I need to get my brakes checked up on. I was hoping to flush the brake system too. I normally dont mind attempting to do things myself but when it comes to stopping 2 tons of mass, Id prefer someone whose certified do it. So my question is this,

Are there any good brake shops or auto maintenance places in general anyone would recommend in the Tucson, AZ area?

Stay away from Brake Masters or those places. A few years ago, I busted them trying to rip a friend of mine off. If you are going to be in the Tempe/Mesa area, hit me up, and I can check them for ya.

Whoa! NC is pretty far Man! But it would be a great drive!

I dont have any plans as of yet to head up to the tempe area. I was hoping to get this done tomarrow as Its my day off and I have this "do it now" mentality currently which is rare =D. So no brake masters. How about Just Brakes.

They can be just as bad.

Honestly, Its simple to DIY. Pull the tire, and make sure you have more than 5mm friction material on the pad.

Hmm.. Looks easy enough, but Im an idiot and would probably save more getting ripped off. lol. Still, I'll print it off and ask for help at the auto hobby shop on base. Probably still need to take it somewhere to have it flushed though. Dont you need special tools for that? Thanks for the guides though. I'll be sure to make an attempt at the replacement.

You shouldnt need the fluid flushed, unless its looking brown.

www.cartalk.com Mechanics files. Put your zip code and your make of vehicle in and it will give you a search of mechanics/shops in your area. You can then look at the reviews that people have written. We tell a lot of people to use that when they are going out of town or for a different make of car (cause we only work on Toyotas!). Good luck!
