As for the fuel debate, I think someone mentioned that when the 2nd gen first came out they recommended 91+ octane. It was changed in ~08, but iirc in the manual it lists the power/ torque with 91 and has some verbage in there about how performance may suffer with lower octane. I think even my manual says something to that effect. And it's a fact that higher octane lets the engine run more timing. That being said we use 87 in the T4R. Runs just fine. Just my $0.02

My truck pings like crazy with 87. Next time I go in for service I'm bringing the TSB with me since the last time I was in for service and asked about it, I just got a strange look.

I have to run 93 in the Subaru because I'm tuned and I've been running 93 in all my outdoor power equipment, so I'm just basically trained to put 93 in everything at this point. However, with the large gap in fuel costs between 87 and 93 these days (although it seems to be closing up a bit), there might be some money to be saved if I can get the truck to run better on 87.

My 1GR runs fine on 87. When I fill it with 93, I really don't notice a difference. I fill it with that 93 "clean your engine whatever blah blah" clean fuel crap every month or so... Still don't notice a difference

I think all the fuel grades have the clean your engine additive. They only advertise it for 93 so you'll spend more.

I had full coverage on my Tacoma and they replaced it no problem. I have Liberty Mutual. I don't know how they filed it but I didn't have to pay a cent. I just called, told them my truck needed a windshield because I had 6 stars and one of them was running and they took care of it.

All comprehensive insurance includes windshield replacements in mass, with no deductible. I believe you're allowed one windshield per year.

You've got a TV in your bedroom?

Edit: Oh, right, I forgot that you're too old to make your own entertainment in there :D

Ugh, I know. They had a 60" and a 72" that were on sale too, but...too much.
Saw one advertised during Sunday's game that was over 100 inches. Absurd.

Billy, this is what was trying to get at. I don't think my full coverage was the reason they replaced it because I didn't have to pay anything. I would call your insurance company, even with basic coverage, I believe you should still be covered for glass.

I don't even have enough wall space for some of the huge ones. I think mine is a 46" and it's plenty big enough for my living room. I bought it on sale at the outlets a few years ago, don't plan to buy another one for a while.

Did you see that big ass curved TV? Damn thing is like $12k!!!

First post in the N.E. thread, hello all.

you can have minimum insurance and still pay for glass ins separately.

As far as small engines, treat all my "gas can" fuel with regular stabil as well as the ethanol treatment. That goes right into the snowblower or lawnmower or mixed with 2 cycle if needed. I usually buy the premixed for the 2 cycle engines though. Im not running a lawn service so its not breaking the bank, but carb issues always arise in 2 stroke engines. This method has been fine for all my equipment for years

I'm amazed that Massachusetts doesn't have some kind of stupid law requiring everyone to have full coverage on every vehicle.

Seen it advertised. It seems to me that unless you were in the optimal seating position it'd screw with the picture. Plus, $12K is more than I've spent on every motorcycle I've ever owned...combined. And I've had a lot more fun on them then I ever had sitting in front of a TV. :D

Give it some time, I'm sure MA will come up with something...

I agree with you on the TV, no way I could every justify spending that kind of loot on a TV.

    ARGH.
Company isn't flying us down to the annual sales meeting/holiday party this year. They're having us drive and paying mileage instead. Which means that I'm driving 3 coworkers 5 hours ONE WAY to NY next Saturday. And driving 5 hours one way back the next morning, with the strong probability of a serious hangover.

Take the scenic route and drive slow so you get good mileage!

    Where in NY, anywhere decent?
