    Hey guys,

As of now I own a X-Runner, which I love to peices. Living in Canada, dealing with winter is alright (set of Blizzaks). This is my primary vehicle, and having an access cab and non 4x4 and no clearence is kind of getting tedious.

Now I'm looking at upgrading to a 2010 (or 09) Tacoma 4x4 TRD. I'm just trying hard to justify it. I will taking a huge loss trading in my 08 XR for a 10 TRD (I think, haven't appraised my XR yet or got a quote on TRD)

So feel free to offer opinions on upgrading.

Also. Does anyone put dirtbikes in the Short Boxes. I always bring 2 (sometimes 3!) dirtbikes in my X-runner. They fit great, with the long bed, and its nice and low to lift bikes in. If i can't fit 2 dirtbikes in a short box, this whole process gets complicated pretty quick.

OH! Also, I have a trailer that I will be haulin two sleds on. Worried how my little truck will deal with towin 2 sleds in the winter.

Sorry, that was kind of a long/confusing post.

    (I wanna 2010 SWB 4x4 TRD so bad :( )

OME 3" lift with 885 coils. OME Shocks with TSB 1.5 AAL. 285/75/16 KM2s. XD Hoss 16" wheels. DDM Tuning 6000K HIDs, H10 6000K Fogs. BHLM. Debaged. 20% tint on front windows.
I can fit my YZ250F in mine but thats it. I have to sit it in my bed side ways to make it fit. You could get a TRD that is not a double cab and a access cab but they are hard to find or a double cab with a long bed but again they are hard to find. I know how you feel about this, but they are mid-size trucks not full size so you are not gonna have as much room as a full size in the bed :[

i have a dc long bed and when i picked out my truck i discovered that it is possible to fit 3 in a short box. i put 3 in my truck and it sucks, so i cant imagine doing it on a short box but it can be done

it is possible, but why dont you just get like a motor bike hauler that goes into a trailer hitch, and save the 200 bucks that the long bed is extra

oh, another criteria, is the new truck MUST be manual trans. so Long Bed is out (unfortunately, i love my 6spd) Right now my rear tire sits about 6" from the end of the box (the center of the rear tire) the Short Beds are 13" shorter (i think?) so that would put the rear tire 7" onto the tail gate.

So is it bad to have the back tire on the tail gate? There really isn't any weight on the back of a dirtbike when its loaded (tied down to the front) I have no problem driving with the tailgate down. (I hear its illegal tho!)

you cant but a short box in canada so you dont have to worry, also you can no longer buy xrunners in canada, so if you sell it privately you might get more than trading it in

    http://www.autotrader.ca/used_cars_...rce=5&pgno=1&srt=10&CompanyID=&r=saskatchewan

Also saw this one in Regina

    http://www.autotrader.ca/used_cars_...0&CompanyID=CT2003112711218957&r=saskatchewan

    Both very nice, neither Blue

Also.. "you cant but a short box in canada so you dont have to worry"

Really? I don't believe so, I called Toyota they said they had 3 2010 SWB 4x4 TRD's in western canada that they could track down. I thought any 6spd was automatically a short bed.

If you are anywhere near Northbattleford. I would highly reccomend going to see Allan from Rainbow Toyota. He was able to get me a magnetic grey tacoma last year within a couple days. The wait at Ens was three or for weeks. they have access to a done of inventory. The guys at Ens really turned me off when i went in to put a deposit on one and the salesperson i talked to the day before wouldn't even look at me.

I bought the A-Hole cab with the longbox partially so my KTM's could ride in safety and comfort....The tailgate has always worried me on these Tacoma's as I bent the one on my 06' DBL cab shortbox.

I say go access cab. That extra bit of length is handy and usable...How often do ride 4 deep in your truck?

Sweet. I like the KX's...Juts dont like them on a slippery rock strewn switchback in the Colorado mountains! I had a 07' KTM 525XC two years ago that wore me out bad. I went back to smokin' and my trail speeds actually went up and I could ride longer without all the fatique....To be honest i was getting sick of adjusting valves and changing oil too. The 300 is about as low maintenance as a bike can get...180 hours/ 3200 miles on the OEM Piston and ring and she stills hauls the mail and has acceptable compression. I wont replace it til' I hit the 220-240 hour marks. Thats so insane!!

Why dont you dig that Nissan?

    Its a short bed right?

I have the Access Cab that has a longbed. I had an 06' dbl cab but never used the backseat and as much as I use the bed? It was A-Hole cabber for me!

well one of the upgrading criteria (me trying to rationalize spending alot of money) is that the acess cab sucks for any more than 2 people. So to be able to fit 4 people, AND my dirtbikes in the back, is where I'd like to be.

Jeeze, my KTM would be hangin pretty far off the back. Might have to do that tailgate stiffening mod asap

i have 2- 2009 kx250f's. they fit just fine in the back of my double cab.. still room to put some gear back there too. I tradedin a ranger for this truck and this truck has way more room then the ranger. and i havent had a single issue regarding the tailgate.

If you are gonna do the 4 people deal take the A-Hole cab off yer' list!!

Thats why I call it the A-Hole cab. Cuz' if you have your old lady or a buddy with you and another guy wants a ride somewhere?

He is OUT! The Access cab turns you into an AssHole who dosent give rides to groups.

If I ever need to group up...

I take my "Big Greasy" Cummins Dodge instead....If I didnt already have a 4 door big truck? I probably would have done the 4 door as well.
    Picture393_b3f02ca8e36e5822a83ad441118b1ef455833453.jpg

I actually love my Dodge Ram. It has gobs of rooominess, leather and with my edge power controller and 6" exhaust the fvcker makes stoopid amounts of power. The frame is stiff and the solid axle front end is beastly. When me and the old lady go on drives over 100 miles we simply get in big greasy without giving our Tacoma a second thought as the Dodge gets 21-22 MPG on the Hwy and just feels designed to set the cruise and lay down the miles. No downshifting on hills, no drama. Just insane amounts of TQ and HP pulling ya down the road like a greyhound bus!
