2015 entune radio plus

So i just got my 2015 two weeks ago and I was playing with the entune radio plus, without Navigation and the only way it will read text messages is if I go to reply and then back to the text message.

Does anybody else have any experience with this?

Could it be my phone, I have a blackberry z10?

I can see the list of messages, and it will read and display them after I go to the reply screen and back, but not before.

It also will not alert me when a new message comes in.

 

I've had my own person issues with mine too. 2015 Entune Pllus.

I'm using Android 4.4.2 Galaxy S4, and it will read my texts after I've set a limit on how long text messages can be on my phone. It will make a call IF I dial the number out, but it wont recognize any of my contacts since it wont sync any of my contacts. I'm hoping the new android update coming out will fix some of these issues.

what bugs me about it is I can see the list of messages, all the call functions work great. it just message notification and displaying the actual message does not work.

There are options on every radio you have to tailor to your needs. Mine shows I have a message and if I want to hear it over the radio. I just hit play message.

 

I had that issue with my iPhone. It was a bluetooth setting. I had to turn on something like "show alerts". Setting was only available when actively paired with the radio.

Also, another "feature" I have noticed is that I only get alerts on the radio screen is if the phone screen is locked.

 

I've got the Entune Plus and was having issues. It would say "error" sending message, but it would send it anyway. Got text messages on my phone and it would come on over Entune about a couple minutes later. It would never display the message log after a text message was received. Then the final straw, it would shut off and restart when I would ask it to send a message to "who ever". Then receiving calls and texts. Took it to Toyota service and it actually shut off when I was showing the service advisor (imagine that !) I thought they would replace the head unit, but no there was an update available. It has worked flawlessly since. Talk to your dealer about an update.

 

When did you get he update, I just picked up the truck a few weeks ago and thought that maybe they would have had it all up to date when I picked it up but maybe that's too much to ask.

Is there a place we can see the software version> Maybe we can compare versions.

 

Funny before I took it in. The settings has a update icon. When I tried it , it said mine was up to date. So I figured it was a replacement job. I was shocked and a little disappointed it was not. But "what they said" was an update seemed to correct the issues. I checked my update. Audio version 01018B. I checked my update history and it did show an update on the day it went in. I hope that helps. Oh it went on November 26th 2014.

OP, I had to get an S5 today because of a phone issue. Now my text message list doesn't come up, or my contacts. It's definitely Entune, but maybe a future Entune update will fix this?

 

Well I thought the update solved my problems, but once again its shutting off and restarting like it did before it was updated. I spoke too soon. Damn Entune, I don't know if replacing the head unit will work, Im sure Toyota will jack with it again and solve nothing.

 

Just to confirm, with an iPhone 6, after the update, you could send AND receive texts? I can't currently send texts.

 

Using my iPhone 5S my radio will read the incoming text to me, but it won't allow me to send a text. This appears to be a safety feature. Having the radio read incoming texts to me is a great feature; much improved over hearing a ding and wondering who texted me...

 

My radio reads me the text and I use the talk to text feature on the Iphone 6 to text back. I do have to look down to press the mic button but oh well...also the phone has to be locked in order for the radio to receive any new texts.

 

i have the top end entune with nav. works perfectly with my galaxy s5. i love it.

 

does anyone know of an update for the 2015 tundra with entune plus?
