First - thanks for all the hard work on this Justus.

What has been the best mounting system for this? I intend to have the gauge in place only when towing or on a 4x4 adventure, not around town.

    I'd welcome ideas. Ed

If that's the case I suggest mount it to the windshield so you can quickly remove it.

I read the pdf provided by Lord Helmet. The issue of picking up Tacoma TFT is ambiguous.

Do you need to contact them after purchase to obtain Tacoma TFT PIDs or does the new Ultra Gauge MX 1.3 come pre-loaded with these?

    Thanks for your time.

This. I know that the older rigs run on a different protocol, but are there any plans to make this a reality?

U may want to start a support ticket with the company since I'm the only beta tester I know of on this forum.

To order the Ultra Gauge MX 1.3 from their WEB site you select options for mounting and for Make of Vehicle. I see Tacoma 05+ for our trucks.

Yesterday I learned that Toyota used 2 different Can protocols for the 2nd gen. Trucks from '05 - '09 use one and trucks from '10 and up used another.

The pdf Lord Helmet provided indicates this gauge is not for technically inept people. Putting together what I learned yesterday and what's in the pdf, I get the impression this thing is still a work-in-progress.

It will be interesting to hear which trucks it works on out-of-the-box.

    '05-'09 or '10-& up

or does their code logic check Can gen level and branch accordingly?

I would post a question at their pre-sales email address, but have not been very impressed so far with their responses to other questions.

    Will be watching this thread.

I have transmission temperature working on a 2015. It did not work out of the box when ordered with their "Tacoma" option, but I contacted them and they gave me these settings to get transmission temperature working:

    TDATA: 07E02182
    MTCH: 6182
    RPOS: 2808
    RCTRL:21
    TCTRL:92
    X: 0009
    /: 0005
    +: FFD8
    Output format: 00
    Left/Right is 31

I now have a working transmission temperature readout, although it is worth noting that none of the other "extra" MX gauges work, although I don't think any of them were very useful.

Yep - what I expected. They did not create a one size fits all - 2005 - 2015. Good to see you got your '15 going.

Using these settings, I was able to get the UltraGauge to display transmission temp on my 2013.

Probably can't use the EM 1.2

UltraGauge offers an update for the EM v1.2 to MX 1.3, which will allow you to display the transmission temp. The cost is $15 plus shipping. I updated my EM v1.2 to the MX 1.3.
