Crawled underneath the truck yesterday to notice two new holes in my frame and the hole by the driver's side cat had grown to nearly 7.5 inches long. Have an appoint to get frame inspected Wednesday needless to say it needs a new frame

Anyone know if this inspection is a one time deal or do we bring it in periodically until the march 2016 deadline is up?

One time deal, if it passes it gets the goop if it fails your truck gets a new frame.

Thats a hard blow to the manhood. Ill just paint my frame this winter and see how it looks after. Then take it in next year before March to get an inspection....maybe something will change in a year

just had mine coated, will pick it up later today. dealer told me they did find a minor rust spot and they would like to have me bring my truck back in 6months or so to check it. should the frame end up rusting they would replace it. didn't say if for as long as i own the vehicle or if just for the length of the recall notice, will ask today about that.

I just received both the CRC LSC and the Leaf Spring Recall notice. I'm in SE Pa and think I'm going to wait on the CRC. I'll get the leaf springs replaced when notified and then have them look at the frame then. I'm concerned if I do the CRC now, it's just going to cover up any possible rust issues that may occur later. At that point the frame would not be covered!

I called Toyota Customer Service and they said that since I'm not registered in any of the states, they won't cover it. Their records indicate that the truck spent at least 131k miles in WV, though. And the rust underneath shows that, as well. I'm pretty bummed.

Stopped in to Riverhead Toyota today, they've had my truck since Oct. 2nd. Spoke with the service manager who said they have no clue as to when the frames are coming due to the fact Toyota corporate won't give them any estimates. He told me he's got 40 trucks alone waiting to be done(I think he's blowing smoke up my ass). They told me that they received a bunch of fit kits but they have no frames. Guess I'll be driving the 2014 TRD sport for the next few months.

Tried to take some pictures of the CRC coating, coating is still wet even after 24hrs. Think this is something that might be better done in the spring.

UPDATED - BEWARE OF OVER SPRAY IT WAS RAINING SO TURN ON WINDSHIELD WIPERS ONLY TO SEE SOME BLACK STREAKS ON THE WINDSHIELD, IF ON THE WINDSHIELD THEN ON THE REST OF THE TRUCK:mad:

If you are like me and live outside of the 20 state under this BS LSC then join in - http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/354353-tacoma-frame-rust.html - Toyota needs to do the right thing. I posted a photo of my rust issue at @TacomaFrameRust on Twitter.

An Instagram account will also be upcoming so that I can document how these inferior frames break down. Toyota knows it - they need to step up and do the right thing.

Well guys just got my notice today. I'm just wondering if the job they do on my truck is going to be as crappy as the job they did on my buddy's truck on the first recall. His frame wasn't that bad before the coating and now three years later it looks like he has run his truck in a salt lake for 15 years:eek:.

Does or has anyone have any information on the extension of the warranty after the frame has been treated? If it is like the first recall after the treatment frame warranty was extended to lifetime for rust.

IMO - I'd bring it to my local Toyota Dealer and request an inspection per the TSB. IF it fails, I'd leave it there and tell them you refuse to drive it unless Toyota and/or/dealer puts it in writing it is safe to drive and to SELL. Then I's call Toyota and tell them they have admitted to a rust issue, It fails THEIR inspection criteria and if they do not fix it per the TSB then it is unfair business practices to the consumer, call the Local AG and Post a claim with then info with the gov transportation recall division (I forget the name) stating the same ....

I just got both of my notices in the mail. It should be interesting to see what my dealer says. Every bolt and weld on my frame is scaly rust and there is tons of surface rust as well. I don't see any perforation yet, but I have a feeling there will be in a year or so. My eccentric bolts in my LCA's are so rusted my truck can't be aligned.

I spent alot of time and money over the years keeping my frame from falling apart, I just should have let it rot.

Miller Toyota in Manassas or Toyota of Warrenton. I'm between the 2. I may wait til late winter though, see what kind of weather we get. My fame actually looked pretty decent until this past winter.
