So mine came off the truck a couple hours ago. After mounting and playing with it for a while, here is my short review along with photos.

It was difficult to find a flat location to mount the magnet since I have 4wd. I tried under the climate controls, along with anywhere around the radio. In the end, I ended up putting it just below the gauge brightness dial as this was the only semi- flat and accessible place.

Here is how I rate the mount

    Build material: 5/5
It seems to be made with good quality metal, along with 3m tape that already has a good reputation for being sticky

    Build quality: 4/5
I ordered two mounts, and on one of them, the pivot ball joint is off center. This limits range of motion in one direction. It is very difficult to see in the picture though.

    Install: 4/5
I took a star away because the magnet to mount is flat, making installation on a curved service difficult and not as reliable. I would like to see a slightly curved magnet in the future to better allow mounting to a dashboard. Other then that one thing, install was easy and took 30 seconds.

    Longevity: unk
I've only had it for a couple hours!

I agree completely. I'll have one magnet where you put yours for when I want to use gps in the desert and not have to look down. Then I put the other one here so that I could control music and stuff like that without moving my arm.

I bought mine in the first group buy MobArmor ran and ended up with the same spot. It's the flattest spot I could find while not obstructing anything on the dash.

I wanted to mount mine near the 4x4 switch but the magnet base would have been hanging half off over the air vent...not really ideal.

Anyways, they're solid mounts guys, I've had mine for about 2 months now and it has been awesome...you'll be able to manipulate it one-handed.

So 8 hours after receiving the mount, I will reluctantly be contacting MobArmor for a Warranty replacement.

It seems the ball portion of the ball joint has come loose, causing the mount to swivel and hang down. I attempting to tighten the exposed Allen screws holding the ball joint, but this didn't work.

This is disappointing as I have only had the mount for a handful or hours and barely had time to even use the thing.

We have already addressed the issue and know what happened. During the assembly process, the aluminum phone mount was not properly seated to the tilt housing. Any play or lack of tightness when assembled may have gone unnoticed.

I will be shipping you a replacement free of charge. Like I said previously, we stand behind our products and won't let a customer go unhappy.

Great review. Honest and direct, I appreciate that. :)

Lol UPS and FedEx hate everybody equally.

    Gold is best!

I use mine everyday, never gets old and I have withdraws when I have to drive without one.

We chose that thickness to allow for good adhesion on slightly curved surfaces. The Discs are idea on complete flat surfaces but you do realized how little flat space there is on modern vehicles.

I have only 65% - 70% of the VHB actually touching my dash and it is rock solid.

I am sure you already addressed this but does the normal size fit the iphone 5 case with an otter box? Or would the large mount fix the i5 with otterbox? Also I know I missed the group buy but is there any discount if someone was to buy three or so?

How the hell am I supposed to use this mount with my phone!?!
    49ae4ab66e71155b9cb5d430d3875dc9_e256af4d4e5191586f50f6554f8eb365f6d91765.jpg

    :drevil:

Fits my truck perfectly! Holds my iPhone 5S snug with the otterbox defender.

    d317457dbe58b36cad654e56d0ac6016_ed13b2525405682762b6d7bb4fde58ec931758c3.jpg

Only observation is that the ball is kind of offset on the mount. It was hard to photograph but this is the best shot I could take

    e75be6adeb27a212942ab30ac6924f74_8f88e27ef5de447a3a1f48f6287f4146344cf57a.jpg

The ball is attached to the mount to the left of center in this photo. Do I think it will affect my mount? No. Just an observation for future manufacturing revisions :)

Also having more angle in the ball would be good. If I could have another 15-25 degrees more of rotation, I'd be VERY pleased with this product.

    Fit and finish are outstanding.

Overall, I'd give this an 8.5/10, with the only limiting factor being the tilt/swivel limitations.

The normal sized mount will indeed work for iPhone 5 with an Otterbox, lifeproof, and many others.

We offer quantity retail discounts but, unfortunately they start at 10 mounts. We might be running a holiday promotion soon, but I haven't decided on that yet.
