Nobody "plans" on it but sometimes it just happens :anonymous: IMO I like the hilux one craig, josh, boyd, and I have on our trucks. The "new" one designed for our trucks thats in the link looks too fat and more like that junky airflow 'murica snorkel.

I like that it fits the lines a bit cleaner than the hilux one. It does seem a bit bulky but I also think that the few pics going around (or at least the ones I seen) are a bit too much of a close up and probably not doing it much justice... perhaps, a pic of the whole truck in frame will make it flow a bit better...

I like the ones we have too. Even if the shape doesn't hug the fender as well I think it looks better.

And agreed with the "don't always plan on going through deep water"

Especially with how deep the puddles are at rausch and the l
Pines, you have to be careful.

Plus without fender liners you really need to relocate the air intake.

 I want the annex... I plan on having a pup and he can sleep on the floor of the annex... And I don't like that you have to put your shoes on in the tent... I want to be able to take them off and put them on on the ground...

Bish I had to make sure your ass was still alive at the day of the clean up... Who goes to bed at 0800 and wakes up for 1000 and is functional!

Well, at least now we know who was on top. :D Although it kinda reminds me of when you see a dog looking out the back of the car. I never understand why they want to see where they've been and not where they're going.

Thanks! I've read enough on TW to know your reputation precedes you....in a good way...:D

Appreciate the recognition! I miss it already, looking forward to getting with my reserve unit at McGuire.

Thanks! If I agree with that statement, do I become a black sheep? Keep in mind, I'm new here and every state I've ever lived in pretty much let the people do what they wanted...and didn't bring out the gimp on taxes. ...Be gentle y'all....hahaha....

ECGS has been on my list of places to go with for these sorts of things. Too bad I just moved from NC 6 months ago!

So, I put all the quotes in there to say thanks y'all. I've been an auto enthusiast for years, been on several forums, and this post is just one more example of how TW is one of the best auto/truck related forums on the 'net, period. The advice, support, characters, humor, and info on this forum surpass any I've seen.

And the welcome to NJ on here surprised me. Looks like I found the best folks in Jersey right here

So if you see a stock silver '14 SR5 access taco around Lacey driven by a dude that looks out of place, say hi! It's probably me haha....

have you seen one with an overhang in person?

I was thinking the other day what I would do when I have a kid. the bachelor would be ok for the first 5 years or so but I'd likely upgrade to the next size up eventually. Then I was trying to decide between no overhang and one with an overhang.

I don't like that the overhang needs to be anchored down, and if it can't be closed up with the annex attached then that makes quite a bit more work for set up. Would be nice to be able to go up and down the ladder even if its raining without getting wet.

a dog isn't a reason to get one instead of the other.. the dog should be up in the tent with you. dogs love RTT's

I was driving behind nicole the other day in her outback. daisy and stewart just sit looking out the back window the whole time.. exactly like you said.

I want the annex for changing purposes and such. Rain protection and so anything dirty can stay in the annex rather than in the tent... The annex I believe to just be a zipper and some stakes in the ground... Im aaiting to see Fabio's tent with the annex.

With the Shasta you have to remove the weather cover, slide the annex wall In place of it, and zip it up on three sides. you have to dedicate 10 minutes to it hence why I never use mine.

Take a minute and evaluate what kind of camping your gonna do. Are you gonna wheel every time you camp?(basically what I do) or park for an entire weekend and never move? your tent is attached to your truck, meaning you have to disassemble everything before you can drive again. Probably takes 15 minutes or more to close it all back up.
