 Unfortunately these guys give all offroaders a bit of a bad name..

That said, they are a perfect representation of the type of people that are typically from the same areas they are

Different, i like it that their are some 4runners but i sure would like to see them perform a lil better. The land rover looks fun but the whole race thing is kind of weird, can i please enter a 4cyl on 35's into a race?!?! What the????

I am kind of looking forward to next week to see who breaks their shit!! Lol

    enough to go over stuff
I wish it wasn’t a race but just a completion of a journey. It would have been better with some real overlanders. Don’t know many overlanders that sleep in $20 ground tents and run over trees at 30 mph. If you’re in the middle of nowhere you take things slow. survey the land. This show is geared towards the masses not us. They picked people with hard personality’s and some shity vehicals and put 100,000 in front of them and said go. They are trying for drama cuz drama sells.

I wish they would just show the trucks, and normal offroading insteading of morons driving around in trucks. Those brothers that came in 3rd, with the 4 runner are fucking weird lol

    I agree with this ^

It's cool to have a show like this and I understand it is ment to apply to the masses but this is just what the tree huggers need, it gives all of us a bad image as we are fighting to keep trails open.

Yeah lets race through the forest with no seat belts, chain smoking all day, and fight about stupid shit for the camera. Just the image we need!

I liked the rover team, until they had to winch up that small dune!

In the perfect world we would have something like the xoverland guys vs an AEV team, ect ... But it wouldn't sell commercials!

I just finished watching the first ep. on demand. These guys are not what I was expecting. Not sure what I was expecting, but this isn't it. I will keep watching it though. I don't think I would actually own any of the vehicles shown. They all seem to be old beat to hell ... well ... just crap ...

Just watched it and was pretty disappointed. It felt a little like watching amazing race. I agree with Nick that it would probably be a cooler show if it wasn't a race. Less hyped up tweeker drama and more about overlanding, but that wouldn't really work with the characters they picked. I don't see them sitting around in a circle making french press coffees and enjoying the scenery. I guess its still better than another reality show about a tow truck driver.

This is very true. I have to remind myself this channel gave us great classics such as Shelby the Swamp dude and Ancient Aliens.

Mullet guy and skinnier 4runner brother are the biggest tweakers on the show.

Not exactly what I want to see in an offroading show, but I'm going to keep watching it. Not really too many shows like this

I had to laugh pretty hard after watching the first episode. All of the stuff shot in the "dunes" and old mining roads it's super accessible for just about anybody haha I've seen mini vans and Subarus out there  the only part that seemed true at all was some of the river crossings do get really deep and the glacial silt makes it super hard to get out if you get stuck.

Going back to Xoverland, I enjoy their videos.

I think the guys are maybe a little (just a little) toolbaggish, but I like the trucks, the equipment, and the scenery. It beats a lot of other stuff that is on right now, and - they are actually out doing shit, so good on them.

I do wonder about the random dude on a motorcycle though. It's got to suck to ride a bike in the company of two trucks; the different speeds during off road riding would be very frustrating. Most of that shit you could pick off at quadruple the speed with no problems on the bike, but he's relegated to going the speed of the trucks.

The episode in the Pryor Mountains in Montana was quite cool, as I have ridden all through those mountains and the horse preserve, so it was neat to see a place I had actually been.

As someone who rides alone a lot, sometimes it's nice to know if you take a digger you have a support rig nearby.

They need to show less in cab camera shots and a lot more action video of the actual rigs going through and over the terrain. It would make it more viewable.

so.... just watched this and it really wasn't very impressive. agree with comments that most of the ppl are not the best bunch. wondering if the editing is designed to take the worst of things that are going on, instead of the best.. these rigs don't appear to be of the sort that i would want to take for a 1000 miles off road, wknds of hard wheeling for sure. and oh no a bit of a steep hill that, lets all get super scared.. i've only met a few wheelers that remind me of these ppl, and they are not generally liked and not the kind of ppl i would plan a wknd of wheeling with. would have been nice if there was some real talk about the rigs and explanations of things to ppl that are not familiar with wheeling. clearly these ppl aren't retards as they built their trucks for wheeling, wheeling trucks don't have to look nice but as above there seem to be quality issues popping up quick. how many more wheeling areas are gonna get shut down due to this show, thanks history channel...

I enjoyed it, somewhat, I always go into these shows hoping for a more technical approach. Like how the trucks are built and how they work but it always becomes about the drama. It's annoying. Like what's the difference in driving over a tree or cutting it down. It's definately dead after u cut it off. The white trash annoy me. It's most of the reason I don't wheel at the popular places here in Texas. They tried for some sort of cross section of people I guess but leave two tooth mullet guy at home. He adds nothing. I will watch it though. I like the man/woman four runner team then the rover team. I don't see the crackhead team of brothers making it too much further.

It is normal "reality TV". By that I mean it is mostly fake and more about the drama than the "reality". The first show was actually shot in an off-road recreation area called the Knik Public Use Area but they even faked the name. They called it Wolf River. Somehow they think it is better to make you think they are out in the wilderness instead of an off-road park.

The only real off-road "racer" is Carl. Jason has done a good bit of 4-wheeling though. I have chatted with a few of the others but don't know much about them.

Jason has been catching a lot of hell for the show being the worst stereotype of an off-roader out there. He and I spoke about it a few days ago.

Shows like this, mostly faked or not, will cost us public support and access to public lands. This is what Green Peace see in their nightmares when the dream about wheeling.
