As I was heading back into town tonight, another vehicle crossed the center line and nearly sideswiped me. Luckily, the only damage was the driver's side mirror. The glass shattered upon impact and the mirror assembly is cracked and broken in places. I have already ordered an entire driver's side mirror assembly. I was just wondering if there was a step by step guide on how to remove the drivers side door panel (I have manual windows) and replace the mirror. Also, I was wondering if anyone knows what size the black plastic snap ring clips that holds the door panel on in places are and where to get them, so that I can have some on hand if I break any.
    Thanks.

I replaced the door speakers in mine and removing the door panel is pretty easy. None of the clip/fastener things broke on me.

I found a video on youtube on how to replace the drivers side mirror.

The manual window crank is held on by a spring clip.
You can use a rag or a screw driver to remove it.
I used the instructions at *********.com for that.
I also found a post here http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/audio-video/54364-window-crank-removel.html about it.

    Hope this helps.

You don't need to take the door panel off to replace the side mirror.

How do you replace the side mirror without taking off the door panel. I looked last night, and there was three bolts. It looks like the door panel had to be removed to access the bottom two bolts.

You only have to take the panel off if you have electric mirrors. But regular cabs dont. An open end wrench will make quick work
