    Electrical Advice

    I know there is an electrician or two on here. My outdoor (front) electrical outlet quit working last night (Xmas lights hooked up). So I bought a new one and replaced it. Still no power, so before I call in a pro I thought I might as well ask what else could it be. There are only the 3 wires I can see. Should I take out the whole outside box?

    Haha nice. Just for future reference .... An electrical receptacle located in a wet location (aka outside, kitchen counter, bathroom counter, etc ......) has to be GFCI protected either by a breaker or GFCI receptacle, which is the receptacle that has the "reset" and "test" buttons on the face. The GFCI receptacle will always be the closest one to the breaker so if it's tripped then all the other ones down stream will not work. So if a receptacle isn't working, first thing you should always do is find a GFCI receptacle and hit the reset button on it
