They're selling that truck at 8k less than what it sold for new.

I'd drive that 9 year old truck to see if it vibes at any speed. I'd offer them 12-13 k considering the mileage, MPGs and because of the tires/lift. I certainly wouldn't pay the 16.5 they're asking for it... YMMV

Why are you considering it? Per your information, you already have a 2013 model. Would it be a replacement for what you already have or in addition to?

Personally, I think that's a lot of money to pay for someone else's project. It's got a ton of miles on it with (mostly likely) no maintenance history outside of what's on the CarFax (if anything).

If you're looking to get out of your current truck into something a little more reasonable from a cost standpoint, it might be worth it to spend some more time browsing here and finding a member selling a truck. At least you'd have a little more history to go on. Don't forget unless you're paying cash for a 2005 model, you're likely outside of standard auto loan rates unless you're going to a buy here pay here type place (or a car dealer) so you're going to have a higher rate. Do you really want to be paying on something that's already going on 10 years old?

If you're looking for a toy, would it make more sense to go with something a bit more radical?

IMHO, you really need to post up more information on your reasoning behind why you want that truck, and then we can give out more pertinent advice.

new they were about $28K, i would offer $9000.00 max. 157,000 miles on a truck with a lift and heavier tires is alot of miles. not saying it cant handle it, just saying, when haggling with the dealer i would bring it up for sure.

also check the lines REALLY close look for any body work or signs its been painted. on a 2005 check the frame out VERY carefully for any frame rust. find out if the spiral cable recall has been done.

also no roof rack, no color matched door handles and mirrors, etc, also check the lift, looks like they have blocks in the back. make sure they did not skimp and go cheapo on the lift, if they did i would pass. also looks like they took the winch out??

it will take a long time to sell for that price.

    none yet
If it was me, I'd pass.

My reason being that with those extra weights (bumpers and tires) added for that many miles, the engine may be getting close to be toasted. If it is fully stock and was driven my grandpa, I may consider it. That being said, the decision is yours to make. Good luck.

off-road package was about $4000 extra if i remember right, plus add all the extra little stuff they charge you for.

i went get the original sticker for mine, its not off-road its sport but will give you an idea...

2006 pre-runner quad cab with SR5 package & comfort and convenience package package base price - $21,675.00

FULL SPORT PACKAGE #2 (the one with the oil and trans coolers and alternator, etc not the sport package #1 thats just for show - $3,870

and that 2wd pre-runner, 4wd has to add some to the cost too :)
