What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Got my Cyber Monday lights installed.

 

Prostart from canadian tire. The 2 button one was on for $40 black friday. Works with the power locks. Programed to turn lights on and shut engine off after 10mins.

 

Pretty sure you're right. With ABS is one way, without is the other. Can't remember which is which though.

 

Well if it's based on ABS then:

ABS: Under leaf spring
Non-ABS: Over leaf spring

 

Get one, I love mine and use the heck out of it lol

I'm really not sure about that theory, I seem to remember a conversation about it here and the e-brake cable was mentioned but I can't remember why.
It started out like this.
'96, no ABS, cable on top of leaves...and everybody chimed in and it went all over the place from there...

 

It's behind the driver seat, it kept falling out and I haven't gotten around to doing anything about it

 

I've heard it before. My 99 non ABS is on top of the leaves too.

Ok guys i have a question , I want to hear what every ones running octane wise in there v6 3400 . Im running 87 but I hear 89 gets better mileage and performance .

 

Mine too. I'm thinking it's actually affecting my ebrake to the point that it's not fully disengaging.

Is that possible?

 

I'd check your tensioner before jumping to conclusions. Mine doesn't even work anymore because it's to loose. Not rubbing against anything.

Eh, I don't see anything over 87 being worth it. Unless you've go a S/C of course.

 

I run 87, and don't have to deal with any ethanol up in AK.

 

Running premium once in a while is supposedly good for your engine some engine builders have told me. Helps burn built up carbon deposits in the cylinders or something.

 

When I had my 02 Tundra with the same engine as my Taco but on my Tundra I was running K&N CAI with a flowmaster 40 and I did notice a small difference on increase of power when I ran 89 but dealer told me these v6 3400 are made to run on and designed for 87 . And thanks for your guys feedback

 

They are designed to run ethanol free 87. With ethanol isn't pure octane.
