    So far I am happ with them. At first I could definity tell a difference and I was getting about 18 mph. As time passes I'm noticing the mpg drop slowly. Before the gears I was getting 16 now I'm getting an average of 16.3. I can definitely tell a difference in torque though. My rear end wants to slip a bit more without weight in the bed.

    No worries, sorry for the crap grammer. I've been using my phone all day.

    I'm thinking a plate rear will help with some grip in the rear eventually.

    Aren't 255/85r16 just about the same diameter as a 285/75r16? 255 is just slimmer, right?

    Ya, I have been running 285/75r16 for about a year and a half. The problem with 315 is that they are too wide. Eventually I will do some major trimming and hammer that pinch weld out of the way. Even doing that I would need spacers. I am touching my remote resis as it is. I want to get a new set of rims before I do any of that to see where I will be positioned.

    New rims with less backspacing. Probably 4-4.5" backspace. 10" wide rim too.

    Maintenance day!

    I took my last final yesterday so I have been spending the last two days taking care of things that have been set aside. Yesterday I ordered parts for my wifes M3 and put most of it back together, took care of my fathers Hummer emissions/tabs and got the brake tool from Oreilly's.

    Today I:
    Installed $2 Garage sale KC lights -

    Hosed it down with a pressure washer and chipped a small chunk of paint off the driver door. I live on a dirt road so I already got it dirty... Whats the point lol I also pressure washed the bed in preparation of putting the canopy back on tomorrow -

    Is there a reason why it's so hard to find shoes for the rear brakes? I feel like most people don't do the rear brakes that often.

    80% of braking is done by front wheels unless you are trailering a lot. You could probably change pads up front twice before changing the back.

    Did you break in brake pads once new ones were installed? Did you turn the rotors when brakes were off?

    By break in, you mean apply the brake till they were seated against the rotor, yes?

    Turn them, no.

    I posted this in one of the other threads but forgot to post it here:


    This is the lay process that I used (lots of resin between each layer):
    (Petroleum jelly as a mold release)
    Woven
    Woven strips on edge
    Woven
    Woven
    Woven strips on edge
    Mat
    Woven
    (Compress the edge)
    (Compress mount location with SS plate)

    When I was done with that I mixed 40% resin and 60% bondo to fill the imperfections while being able to mold it. Sand and paint.

    I started working on a new HC rear bumper design with Jake (Jeverich). We've got plenty of time to work out all of the kinks but it should be pretty unique if it all comes together.
