The more I see these the more I'm liking them...
Yeah... Which is the only reason I bought them. Reverse lights for now until I get something better I guess.
And people wonder why I buy Rigid Industries pods haha
Yeah, I'd like to get a Viper. I just keep putting it off.

This morning I swapped diff fluid in the rear and installed some Marlin Crawler magnetic drain plugs, also installed the oem FJ40 emblem I got on ebay. Bad pic but you get it. Bumpers a little crooked with taco lean and the light bar being off from the bumper also makes nothing look straight but oh well.

That's what I'm thinking. I wouldn't sweat it the rest of you who have ordered them. Like I mentioned, they will glow dimly with a little persuasion, so maybe they can be fixed. I'll post pics of what I find, if anything. Could just be a cold solder joint.

What you hear is wrong. You need airflow, the more airflow the higher the octane. So called performance intakes don't produce enough airflow unlike a turbo or supercharger. Run 87 and use fuel injector cleaner every oil change is all your engine needs.

I've had my blitzpro 6lz lights for two years now with no problems other than slight condensation in one. Hopefully the defective one posted earlier was just a lemon.

New shorter antenna, doesn't hang on the garage door and works better than the original:

I finally replaced my leaking oil pan gasket. I'm in the middle of a regear, so I already had the front diff out.

    AH OH!

    IMG_20141112_181657_552_zpscedfdbdd_cf3e964f8e0bf7fd65fcb3011a63e59aa2a4137d.jpg

    Oh good! :)

PO must have broken a timing chain and figured its not worth the effort to pull the pan to remove it. Probably was the original oil pan gasket on there with something like 280k miles on it. After cleaning all gasket surfaces really well and repainting the exterior of the pan, I installed a cork gasket with only a slight amount of black oil resistant Permatex on both sides. Finger tightened and let cure for 24hrs. Then final torque to spec through graduated rotational sequence. I know that there's a lot of debate about what's the best gasket material to use. I researched the oil pan gasket issue to death, thought long and hard about the pros and cons of cork vs. black rtv vs. toyota grey vs. honda something or other sealer, and made my decision to go this route. Time will tell if it was the right one.

I'm installing a header and a custom all stainless exhaust while I've got the truck parked. I got a good deal on the header and now I know why. It's an older but never used Downey (apparently Downey contracted out their production to the local School for the Blind's shop class ). The tube to plate welds were blocking a good portion of the tube area. I think my original exhaust manifold would have flowed better. So I ported the header intake tube areas. I made a template of my engine exhaust ports first, then transferred their locations onto the header.
    IMG_20141206_141226_701_zps076c4dc4_7a5fcc23f190a42aca78172d0ba3311ec731190c.jpg

I started by using a Dremel with a carbide burr bit. The process consumed two of the bits but they worked surprisingly well.
    IMG_20141206_141332_833_zps51205e77_9994ce6b603ce2a32710e96e8926819f353c3aa1.jpg

Here's a pic of dremel ground on the right and unground on the left.
    IMG_20141206_141201_882_zps40901c29_f2a34f1ee53552ce6517c3d6a9fe4464d769f2c2.jpg

I then switched to a small sanding cylinder on the dremel to even out and smooth the ports. Then progressed to sand the ports by hand with course, medium, fine and ultrafine emory cloth.

    Finished product.

    IMG_20141207_100324_387_zpscd752bfe_59169df4f7b8031a6e39fd47133e3b200e1b372c.jpg

Not as pretty as I would like but a HUGE improvement over the original condition. I also had to grind down the welds and burrs where the egr pipe connects as they were pretty sloppy. I was careful to avoid contacting the face plate with the dremel, but not careful enough. I touched it a couple times, but I don't think it damaged it enough to cause a leak. The other marks on the face plate were there when I got it. There are only tack welds on the pipes on the other side of the plate, so I plan to completely stainless weld those sections to ensure that there's sufficient integrity at the pipe to plate joint.

Is the Mob mount all its cracked up to be?

Oh and the Fedex man showed up with 2 of 4 tires. Supposed to be 33's. Apparently Treadwrights run a little big.
