    Howdy all.

Have been preoccupied with wanting a 1st gen Tacoma double cab 4x4 for years and now it has come to a head. I've been obsessing lately and am trying to cool my nerves by coming here and doing some research with the enthusiasts. My aunt in Hawaii had an '84 with close to 400k on the clock that I loved as a kid. First vehicle I drove without a license. Seems like finding a good '03-'04 with less than 100k is tough. I'll be patient and maybe I'll find one here.

Thanks in advance for all the great info.

Welcome! Don't give up yet, they are out there. I found my 04 double cab with 75k on it just a little over a month ago, has 78k now and I've loved every minute of it, was well worth the wait to find. Don't be afraid to search far and wide either, I had to travel 3 states over to get this one and tow it back home on a trailer. Good luck! :)

    Thanks for the warm welcome!

2004Tacoma, that is exactly what I had in mind. Hopefully there are a few more out there. I've got the airmiles to fly in and pick her up wherever I find her. Trying to focus on dry salt free states but you never know. I can't believe the prices they demand. Talk about resale value!

Oh yes, they are out there, just rare, but they can be found. I was looking at a 2001 that sold that had 110k on it, it was gone before I could get it though. I had to put a down payment on this one just so they'd hold it in time for me to come get it. They go quick.
