When I saw what they did to Alex Smith for getting a concussion, I figured this was coming at some point.

They've lost the way. The old days, back when it was Eddie's team, you took care of each other and watched out for each other. Now it's basically 'celebrity apprentice' only you're playing up to that cockbag Harbaugh.

Sorry to say, but you brought this on yourselves, Niners. You need to look in the mirror and be a stand up organisation before you'll get stand-up coaches working with stand-up players.

Not just the beard....it's the combo of the beard, the mohawk, and the fact that he's a hard-hitting safety to boot.

I agree. Eddie D was all about taking care of the team and winning. The Yorks have royally messed up this franchise. For a minute I thought Jed was marginally better than his dad, which is probably true. But by moving to Santa Clara and selling the soul of this team to the investors of the Silicon Valley, it's like there's no more substance.

idk, maybe it's just me ranting. But I'm thoroughly upset at this season.

I'd be upset with a lot more than just this season.

    But that's me.

Oh trust me. I was upset from 2002 to 2011 when they missed the playoffs and had inept coaches. But making the NFC championship 3 years in a row and a Super Bowl, it's hard to get upset from those years.

2011 - 1 overtime fumble away from reaching SB
2012 - 5 yards away from beating the Ravens and winning SB
2013 - Last minute INT in the end zone that prevented them from advancing to SB
2014- Lost to the pathetic Raiders :(

He's still the best young QB in the game.

Oh man..I'll never forget watching that game at my parents house however many years ago that was now. I did rep my Hasselbeck jersey yesterday for gameday though, I really liked him.

So, Sio Moore is a complete moron and a prick. Keep it on the dance floor ya dunce!

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11997418/sio-moore-oakland-raiders-targets-chump-colin-kaepernick-field?ex_cid=sportscenterFB

"Moore made only one tackle, dropping Kaepernick for a 7-yard loss on the opening play of San Francisco's second possession. He later danced around the field during an injury timeout in the second half....

...he nearly cost the Raiders a shot at winning when he broke into an excessive and lengthy celebration 30 yards behind the line of scrimmage after sacking Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith, even as the Chiefs were lined up to snap the ball".

Same. Even as a 9er fan I was rooting the 'hawks that day. Used to be a big Jim Zorn fan.

The problem with the Redskins is the OWNER. I agree with everything said in the quote, but Snyder thinks he knows football. He and Jerry Jones have the same problem... Ego Ego Ego !

Probably add Kaepernick to that list pretty soon.

    Yep.

If I were starting a new team right now, he'd be my second choice at QB, behind Rodgers.

He's young, hella smart, and he wants to do the hard work to win, not just wants to win so he does as much as is needed and no more.

Lots of QBs never get to their potential because they never 'get' that last part.

I'm a homer but I don't know if I could put Luck ahead of Wilson. Luck has WAY better weapons on offense for passing, Wilson for rushing. My biggest issue with Luck is bad decisions and taking hits. I don't think anyone is better in pressure situations that Wilson right now.

I would go Rodgers, 2A Wilson, 2B Luck.

Close enough for government work ;)

People underestimate Luck's athleticism. Folks don't realize he's essentially a white Cam Newton, physically. Look at their draft combine stats and they're neck and neck.

Andrew is just smarter and less an attention whore, while Cam is a bit overall stronger.

As I'm sitting here reading an article on SI.COM about the fall of the Saints I find myself thinking... The Saints should be sending checks to SF. If it wasn't for that shit show they would be under WAY more media scrutiny.

    The Saints run. Done.

Quote from Greg Bedard and Drew Brees:

“We’re much better than that, but we have to play like it, we have to prepare like it,” he said. “We have to handle ourselves throughout the week like professionals, like men, with a level of maturity. Until we do that, we’re not going to have consistency of our performance.
“Every season you’re going to face adversity at times. We just need to be more professional.”

Brees might as well have just said, “We have a bunch of soft quitters who enjoy being football players more than actually doing the work required.” And there’s no bigger indictment of a professional football program than that.

    Ouch.

Got the impression from the Pregame tonight that Stuart Scott is not doing well at all..bummer. I never really liked him as an ESPN personality after he left the old school sportscenter but he's grown on me a lot in the last couple years. Tough and courageous.
