Is the weather up in Rustic/RFL supposed to get progressively worse? I knew we had a 20% chance of snow down here on the flats.

Don't worry, I'll take up that charge for you. Although, technically a 3rd gen 4R is the same as 1st gen Taco.

7 Mile snow run Sunday the 23rd.

If you are asking me to take a long drive whilst running your stick, you've got me all wrong. Besides I know how to drive a stick.
...come to think about it, I guess I've never wheeled a manual vehicle though.

Ok, no takers for Saturday, how about Sunday? Change of date:

Who is up for some snow bashing this weekend before the USFS locks the gates for the next 6 months? With it being 68-70F down here it may turn out to be a mud fest up there. [IMG]

In the past I would be heavily tempted to just go by myself, but after coming across that Jeep stuck in a bog 8 miles from the middle of nowhere last Aug, I'm no longer tempted.

So, who wants to see how far up Deadman Rd, Cherokee Park Rd or Laramie River Rd we can get?

I'm not even sure what they have  generally Jeep things, offroad things, gift cards, jewelry etc. I haven't been to this event in a few years. It used to be even more awesome because we would do a police escorted caravan/parade to the meetup place but they don't do it anymore. We'd even decorate the truck.

So I've got Finals starting Sunday, and given my extraordinary ability to procrastinate combined with my unprecedented inability to study, I want to go wheeling Saturday.

Anyone care to join me or have any suggestions on where to go this time of year?

I'm in. Lots of trails are closed now though. Pole hill just closed, that was fun in the snow. 7-mile still open and surprisingly Green Ridge but you have to access from the Poudre side. It will be closed on the Deadman side. Could be they haven't updated the closure yet.

Pingree park is open but the road is closed at Browns Lake to the Zimmerman trail head. It's only fun in the snow and i don't think there is any snow left after the last week.

Long Draw road is open, might be snow up there and there are a few random trails around there too.

    Bunce or MSV maybe?

bummer, ok, thanks. I don't have a listing for that trail so I don't know.

Cherokee Park might be fun, lots of random trails there too, might make it to Laramie River Road. I know Husky Driver mentioned that awhile back but I think everybody had other commitments.

    I'm interested.

I'll be anxious to use my super duper tire flation thingy in anger for the first time.

Yeah, this isn't looking too promising:

    http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/arp/recreation/?cid=stelprdb5339508

What? And you were saying Sean can't structure a sentence...

Also, the idea of Chinaman's crossed my mind. Don't know if I'm game for the drive up there and I've already run it this year, but it's a fun trail and should be clear of snow. I would considerate it though as I'd like to try some of the optional obstacles I've skipped in the past.

"flation" because it's good for both types (in and de)
"used in anger" is a colloquialism for use in the actual, intended scenario

yankee hill et al might be fun

also, "structure" is not a verb. "construct" would have served you better
